Protesters can be heard calling Mamdani “anti-Semitic” and refusing to back down as he follows.
When Mamdani’s security services intervene, they form a protective barrier to guide him towards a car which then leaves the square. A protester holding a flag is seen walking towards what appears to be another member of the security team near the vehicle.
Mamdani was speaking at Foley Square to show solidarity with New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was charged this week with mortgage fraud related to a Virginia property she owns.
Mamdani has been repeatedly pushed to repudiate Hezbollah and denounce slogans such as “Globalize the Intifada.”

During a June 2025 appearance on “Meet the Press,” Mamdani refused to do so altogether, saying police language is not the role of a public official, although he affirmed his opposition to inciting violence and anti-Semitism.
Mamdani reflected on the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks in Israel on Tuesday, issuing a statement in memory of the victims and Israeli hostages still held by Hamas.
“Two years ago today, Hamas committed a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 others. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of all hostages still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities,” Mamdani said.
“A death toll now well over 67,000 with the Israeli army bombing homes, hospitals and schools and reducing them to rubble,” Mamdani said.

“Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself is no longer expressed. I mourn these lives and pray for the families who have been broken.”
Mamdani’s statement was republished by the Israeli Foreign Ministry (IFM) on X where it accused him of “acting as a mouthpiece for Hamas propaganda.”

“By repeating Hamas’s lies, it excuses terror and normalizes anti-Semitism. It only supports Jews when they are dead. This is shameful,” the IFM message said.
Mamdani’s press office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
