New York Democrat mayor’s Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani brought his anti-Trump campaign campaign to Costan Island on Wednesday, exploding President Donald Trump’s immigration reform.
On Wednesday, Trump was once again at the top of the race at Gracie Mansion while Mamdani continued his tour “Five Boroughs Against Trump” at the Authentic Mediterranean restaurant in Istanbul Bay on Staten Island.
“While we meet here on an island, where almost 1 in 4 were born outside this country, an island where 30% of its residents speak a language other than English, it is an island that we know is not safe from this horrible repression. We see Trump administration. We see it and feel it,” said Mamdani. “And we know that it has nothing to do with security. It has to do with punishment.”
While Trump campaigned for the president last year to ensure the border and to expel illegal immigrants, Mamdani is campaigning for the mayor this year on the protection of New York immigrant communities in the midst of Trump’s deportation.
Joined by the chief of the district of Staten Island District Staten Island, Jasmine Robinson, activist of the rights of immigration, Yesenia Matas, and president of the Staten Island Democratic Association, Ali Ansari, Mamdani concentrated the event of Wednesday on the “horrible attacks of Trump against the communities of immigrants of New York” in which he continues to “tear the New York Yorkers without regular procedure “.

“It is not enough to fight against authoritarianism. Why do you fight too? We are fighting to keep this city a sanctuary city,” he said.
Mamdani said earlier this month that New York and the United States faced a “dark moment”. He then described the Trump administration as “authoritarian government” and criticized the ice for “kidnapped (ING)” immigrants “.
According to the Mamdani campaign website, he is determined to “NYC in Trump test”, By removing ice cream of “all the city’s facilities” and strengthening the laws on the city of the sanctuary.

The resistance to Trump’s repression against illegal immigration dominated the headlines during the primary Democrat mayor of New York, in which Mamdani won in June.
The main candidate and the New York Brad Lander – Whom Mamdani controller interrupted and campaigned with the primary agents – was arrested by the agents of the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) in June after being accused of having attacked a federal officer while he was trying to extend to a migrant from their federal hearing of the immigration court.
While Lander finally faced any accusation, the incident catapulted Trump’s illegal immigration repression on the New York campaign path.

After being detained for several hours, Lander joined his primary candidate colleagues outside the 26 Federal Plaza, an immigration establishment in Manhattan, while Mamdani called the “fascism” incident.
It was such an example of elected officials detained by federal immigration officials while protesting Trump’s expulsions, notably the mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, in the neighboring New Jersey.
Senator Alex Padilla of California was also deleted by force and handcuffed by federal agents earlier this year when he shouted questions on immigration and customs application (ICE) in the United States to the Secretary of the DHS, Kristi Noem, at a press conference.
Demonstrations rejecting the ice broke out through the country this year, in particular in Los Angeles, where demonstrations plunged into riots, which led Trump to authorize the National Guard without the request of Governor Gavin Newsom – the first time in 60 years.
During the mandate of the outgoing mayor Eric Adams, New York became an epicenter of the migrant crisis while the administration of President Joe Biden raised the evictions of the era of the COVVI 42 era and the governor Greg Abbott, R-Texas, began to send bus charges to New York since his border condition.
While the situation took place, Adams began to denounce the immigration policies of Biden, qualifying the crisis of migrants in New York a state of emergency.
When Mamdani declared victory in the Democratic primary, he described his vision of New York’s future as a place “where the mayor will use his power to reject the fascism of Donald Trump, to prevent mass ice agents from exporting our neighbors and to govern our city as a model for the Democratic Party.”

Meanwhile, Adams acquired a reputation during his mandate to challenge Biden’s immigration policies while producing coordinating with the illegal repression of Trump’s immigration, in particular by working alongside Trump’s frontal Czar, Tom Homan.
Adams has also been cozé in Trump since he was elected in November, visiting both Mar-A-Lago and the White House. Trump’s Ministry of Justice has abandoned corruption, thread fraud and accusations of conspiracy against Adams earlier this year.
