The Democratic Socialists, Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT., And the candidate for the Democrat Town Hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, joins forces on Saturday to fight against the oligarchy in the country’s financial capital.
“It is an honor to welcome Senator Sanders in New York while we are fighting the greed of companies, billionaires and corrupt politicians responsible for the affordability crisis,” said Mamdani in a statement before the “oligarchy” event to fight in Brooklyn.
Mamdani’s primary victory in June shocked not only the political establishment, but the real estate and business The leaders who drive the economy of New York. With an affordable central price of Sanders and Mamdani platforms, the two were both the subject of the inequality of American wealth.
“While the Oligarchs and Donald Trump are trying to place their thumbs on the scale of this election, we focus on the laser on New Yorkers who have built this city, call it at home and deserve a leader who will give dignity for all,” said Mamdani, referring to the reports of the New York Times who predicted that President Donald Times Mamdani.

Before the town hall of Brooklyn, the two progressive leaders plan to walk alongside the members of the Union during the labor party parade in Manhattan on Saturday morning.
After making the head of the annual breakfast of the New Hampshire AFL-CIO Labor Day on Monday, Sanders told Fox News Digital that Trump “heads us for authoritarianism, to more inequalities in income and wealth and to make the planet even more dangerous”.
“No, billionaires should not be able to get away with it without paying their fair share of taxes while workers are, in many cases, overloaded,” said Sanders, urging Americans to unite against Trump and deliver for more than the first 1%.

Sanders and Mamdani met in July When the hope of mayor visited the national capital for a breakfast of the digital campaign organized by the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y.
Mamdani called Sanders “Brooklyn from start to finish” and said it was an honor to meet “one of my heroes”, while Sanders said he was “deeply impressed by the basic campaign he directs”.
Sanders was an early endorship of the Mamdani main campaign, alongside Ocasio-Cortez. The duo sparked a considerable buzz on the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour early this year, triggering thousands of democrats during gatherings through the United States which found themselves without a clear party leader from devastating losses from the bottom of the ballot in 2024.

While the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour of Sanders seemed to be a glimmer of hope for a certain time for a fractured party, Mamdani’s surprising main victory this summer seems to have rekindled this democratic base in a new direction, although more progressive.
The Mamdani campaign platform promises progressive ideas such as rent gels, grocery stores managed by the city, free buses and the increase in minimum wage – which it plans to pay by increasing corporate taxes and 1%. Many of these ideas comply with the democratic socialist program that Sanders has been pushing for years.
“At a time of massive and growing inequality of income and wealth, we are building a strong basic movement to face the billionaire class and the greed of businesses,” Sanders said in a statement before the Town Hall of Brooklyn.
Sanders said that “oligarques” – or wealthy business leaders having a political influence – “will know democracy” and will not hesitate to “buy elections”.

“But candidates who remain boldly with the working class can – and will beat them – when we hold together, we can overcome authoritarianism and create an economy that works for all our people, not just a few privileged,” said the Senator of Vermont and former presidential candidate.
