Zelenskyy arrives at the White House for a Trump meeting

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the White House for his meeting with the high issues with President Donald Trump carrying more formal outfit than his typical relaxed wardrobe.

Zelenskyy was seen shaking Trump’s hand while wearing all black, including a buttoned black shirt and jacket.

“First of all … President Zelensky, you seem fabulous in this costume,” a journalist said in Zelenskyy after sitting with Trump in the oval office.

“You look good,” said the journalist before Trump adds, “I said the same thing.”

Zelenskyy is back in Washington, DC on Monday to meet Trump after the Historical Reunion of the American president with Russian president Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska to discuss the current war between Russia and Ukraine. Putin’s meeting did not give a peace agreement, Trump now urging Ukraine To accept an exchange of land with Russia, arguing that it is the most effective way to end war.

The meeting on Monday also includes European leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Zelenskyy was previously criticized and questioned about his public outfit, which regularly included it sporting dark green t-shirts, fleece sweaters and other relaxed military style outfits, as opposed to costumes.

“Why don’t you wear a costume? You are at the highest level of the office of this country, and you refuse to wear a costume,” asked a journalist in Zelenskyy when he visited the White House in February. “Do you have a costume?”

Axios said the White House would have asked Ukrainian officials before the meeting if it would wear a costume in Reunion.

Fox News Digital reported earlier this week that Zelenskyy was more likely to wear more formal outfits for his White House meeting, according to a designer who has already collaborated with the European leader.

“Tomorrow, he will probably not appear in a polo shirt,” Ukrainian designer Elvira Gasanova told Fox News Digital on Sunday. “I think he will choose a black military costume or a military style shirt with pants – perhaps a jacket.”
