Xavier Legette of Panthers, Rayshawn Jenkins of Browns, launched after the pre-season fight

Carolina Panthers Large receiver Xavier Legette began his second campaign with an ejection after taking a physical fight when opening the team’s pre-season against Cleveland Browns on Friday evening.
LEGETTE, the choice of first round of the panthers in the draft of the NFL 2024, was ejected alongside Browns Safety Rayshawn Jenkins with a little more than six minutes in the first trimester after exchanging blows on the ground.

This fight occurred after Jenkins seemed to continue to block Legette long after the end of the game.

Legette won several punches while Jenkins managed to remove her helmet during the altercation.
Panthers’ head coach Dave Canales told journalists after the match that Legette had done what he was supposed to do during the game, but added that the two players deserved a disqualification after being physical.
“We ask our receivers to play with your hands – it was. He had his hands on the guy all the time, through the echo of the whistle. The guy swung and cut his arms down, and Xavier somehow held his jersey.

“Then they started to exchange punches-you can’t do that. None of the two parties. The two guys were rightly ejected,” he continued.
“We cannot have this in the context of our game. It is a physical game … Temperatures will become hot, but as soon as you punch suddenly, we are disadvantaged. So, we want to see X for sure.”
Legette apologized to the fans after the match in a post on X.
