The path to an agreement on the confirmation of a multitude of candidates by President Donald Trump seemed to be fragile in the Senate on Saturday, while the Republicans and the Democrats clashed on the terms and conditions to find a path to follow.

Senators were supposed to have long disappeared from Washington, but Trump’s requests to divide his candidates by the historic blocking of the Democrats of the Senate maintained the legislators in the city. But at the end of the afternoon, little progress had been made.

When asked if progress had been made, the head of the majority of the Senate John ThuneRs.d., told Fox News Digital: “Unfortunately, not really, no.”

“DEMS are dug in a position that simply does not work,” he said.

Negotiations have been underway between the Republicans, the Democrats and the White House. Thune and the leader of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, Dn.y., met last night to discuss an offer of democrats. The two have not spoken directly since then, communicating rather via intermediaries, said Thune. However, he expected them to leave later on Saturday.

The Senate Republicans want to conclude an agreement that would see the nominees who have successfully completed the committee with Bipartisan support obtaining rapid votes on the ground, but Schumer did not give in.

A familiar source with the negotiations said that the Democrats of the Senate sought agreements on the release of funding chosen by the White House and a guarantee that there will be no future attraction packages – a particular collision point for them heading to the imminent deadline to finance the government. In exchange, they offer a slice of candidates to move forward now, and another lap later in the fall.

But Trump, who is in his bed bed, NJ, Golf, demanded that the legislators stay in town and pass the whole list of candidates on the Senate calendar, which has increased more than 150.

The President praised the Senate Republicans in an article in Truth Social Saturday “for fighting, on weekends and far beyond, if necessary, in order to have my appointments approved, and to help us make America again!”

“Radical left-wing democratic senators do everything possible to prevent these wonderful and talented people from being approved,” he said. “If George Washington or Abraham Lincoln were ready to approve, the DEMS would delay, as long as possible, then vote them.”

While the Republicans have confirmed much more than 100 of the president’s candidates, the only choice to go to the ground without objection was the Secretary of State was Marco Rubio.

Not one of Trump’s candidates has obtained a vocal vote or suffered unanimous consent, two ground actions that have been regularly used to advance candidates in the upper room over the years. At this stage, four years ago, 49 of the choices of former president Joe Biden had been confirmed by vocal vote.

Senator Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., Explained that the Republicans have three options that they have enough support among the conference to move forward: to conclude an agreement with the Democrats; Please postpone the Senate and give the presidential track for appointments against recess and finally, a package of rules, which some republicans consider as “the nuclear option”.

During the recreation appointments, a move has floated since Trump took up his duties, Senator Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., Self that it would be up to the Democrats if the Republicans have really passed it.

“The obstruction of the Democrats leads, in a very short time, taking the necessary measures to give the President the power to take appointments against recreation,” he said.

Although it is a delicate decision that would trigger a storm of fire among the Democrats, the Republicans are not afraid to move forward with a change of rules. When asked if a change of rule should be made before the legislators left the city, Senator Kevin Cramer, RN.D., said: “I think it would be the best”.

But the preference is to conclude an agreement, preferably on a potential whole on more than 60 nominees which have been advanced outside the committee in a bipartite manner.

“The reason we are in this way is that Schumer led us on this path,” said Mullin. “He didn’t have to do this in this way.”
