“Wa Leng Wa Hor” by Adri Tan

At your forefront, you did not address the idea of building an unreliable image of your grandmother, can you talk a little more about it?

In my book, I address the idea of building my understanding of my grandmother. Since I only met my grandmother several times before her sheep advanced, I have never been able to spend a lot of time with her and asked her about her life. As a result, a lot of stories I know comes from relatives. But the thing about telling stories by mouth is that over time, memories turn and people re -tell things in different ways. People recite stories based on the context of the room, where are they, and when they tell them. There is no objective fact, but there is a fact that people feel and remember when they tell stories.

What I know about it now is not necessarily its reality, but this is my self -truth about it. With the photos in Wa Leng Wa Hor, one can take a look and assumed assumptions about who it was, but I know that she was stubborn stubborn and independent that was often in the last years of her life but still had moments of joy.
