EXCLUSIVE: The department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Virginie’s Commonwealth will announce Wednesday that the agency will be the first major department of the cabinet to move from Washington, DC during the mandate of President Donald Trump.

The Republican Governor of Virginie Glenn Youngkin and Secretary Hud, Scott Turner, should baptize the new existing building in the already existing building of the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Carlyle-Eisenhower district of Alexandria, which also houses a Wegman grocery store, a cinema and several high-end stores and restaurants.

The current HUD headquarters on the child Plaza is also on the list of buildings in the Senate Doge Caucus, which they wish to see to save the taxpayers’ funds. The curved X-shaped granite building, officially called Robert C. Weaver Federal Building, is “underused”, according to their section.

Turner noted that relocation would unlock hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ savings and will respond to serious health problems among the child’s staff.

“For sale”: DOGE moves to sell almost half a mid-milliard of federal real estate, to move the seats to the agency of the cabinet

“It is time to turn the page on the Weaver building and to move to a new head office which prioritizes the well-being of HUD employees and correctly reflects the passion and excellence of our team,” Turner told Fox News Digital.

“There are serious concerns with the current state of HUD’s registered office, including health risks, leaks and structural and maintenance failures. Many of these risks will continue unnecessarily and irresponsible to absorb the dollars of taxpayers. The move is more than to change the buildings;

Turner, a former corner half of Washington Redskins, added that he also aligns with the vision of President Donald Trump for a “new American golden”.

Youngkin was just as enthusiastic about Hud’s move in the old Dominion.

“Virginia is an ideal place to have its head office, and we are delighted to welcome the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and more than 2,700 employees based at the head office in the best state of America to live, work and raise a family,” Youngkin told Fox News Digital.

In the middle of the plans by So-Elon Musk-Dirigé Doge To move federal workers, Youngkin faced criticism for not having spoken stronger against the administration – criticisms that largely failed after Wednesday’s announcement revealed that the new head office would only be a few stops in the city center of Washington on the yellow metro line.

“Since the Trump administration began to transform the federal government to better serve the American people, our team has focused on seizing the new opportunities that it presents for the Commonwealth,” said Youngkin. “Virginia is the pride of the housing of many public and private public seats, and we thank Leadership Hud for trusting us and we are committed to supporting your important national mission.”

Youngkin had taken slings and arrows on his support for Such Doges effortsIn particular of the head of the majority of the Virginia Senate, Scott Surovell, D-Mount Vernon, who previously criticized his position on the federal relocation of workers.

“It is the work of people, their lives, their ability to support their families, and it is the future of Virginia’s economy”, Survell said VPM.

Hud relocation, however, falls just through Cameron Run Creek of the Surovell district.

Senator Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, president of the Senate Doge committee, congratulated Youngkin and Turner for this decision.

“The Robert C. Weaver building is a vacant and dilapidated monument with half a billion dollars in late maintenance,” said Ernst, calling it “cross between a ghost town and a horror show”.

“This is a real federal fixer and a perfect candidate to be put on the auction block. My act for sale will sell this and five other money wells to reduce the portfolio of subutilized buildings of Washington, generate $ 400 million in revenues and save billions of maintenance taxpayers.”

Michael Peters, the Commissioner of the General Services Administration, who manages federal real estate, welcomed this decision in Virginia, claiming that it reflects the commitment of his agency to budgetary responsibility and “the efficiency of the mission”.

Investments to date in the Weaver building have totaled $ 90 million in the past 15 years, including Plaza, Roof and Facade repairs.

Hud is expecting a “important demand” of the private sector for its old house – located just east of the Smithsonian, south of the National Mall and at a distance from the new Waterfront Wharf social zone.

The containment of molds and asbestos tormented the building, which also has only about half of its elevators in operation.

The agency also noted that there are approximately 1,000 more employees at HUD against NSF – which they calculated to save $ 51 per foot on the use and maintenance of buildings.
