Lieutenant-Governor of Virginia Winstome Earle-Sears, the Republican candidate for the governor in November, called on Thursday an “absurdity” of the transgender bathroom outside a meeting of the board of directors of the public schools of the County Fairfax.
Fairfax, like the neighboring Loudoun, was involved in disputes on the treatment of complaints by the administrators concerning transgender students sharing changing rooms.
“Look at all of our wonderful parents who say that” we are not for nonsense “,” said Earle-Sears outside the board of directors with an acclaiming crowd behind it.
The Fairfax County Public School Policy (FCPS), as described on its website, obliges speakers to be residents of the county of Fairfax or Fairfax City or residents outside the county with students of the FCPS in the household. Earle-Sears does not live in Fairfax, which is a suburb of Washington, DC.

Earlier this month, FCPS faced criticism on a male pupil with facial hair authorized to use the West Springfield High School’s girls room in Springfield, Virginia. The boy would also have “staying there and watching (girls)”, according to a complaint of civil rights reported by the New York Post.
The FCPS staff approached the situation on Monday by shortening the time that girls could use the changing rooms to allow the boy to use it “without them being in their presence”, according to the post.
Earle-Sears said that politicians can say that they agree with it on the issue, but that it does not show it enough.
“Because, if you love me, you will make sure that my children are safe in the locker room and not undress in front of men,” she said.

“And we have our boys who want to maintain their own respect and dignity. They too do not want to have to be forced to undress in the locker room with transgender men.”
Earle -Sears called Title IX – that criticism of these living room policies say violent – is what gives young girls a “launch ramp” with regard to women’s rights.
She also urged journalists to press her opponent, the former Abigail Spanberger representative, D-VA., Having his position, arguing that the Democrat supported “dangerous measures” who forced girls “to change in front of the naked men” and to vote accordingly.

“You allowed her to get away with a salad of words where she says a whole bunch of nothing and no one understands,” said Earle-Sears, noting that Spanberger voted against the declaration of parents’ rights to the congress in 2023.
Earle-Sears said the bill would also have demanded that parents be warned if their child was expressed the desire to pass or was doing so.
“(The bill) also said that if my child is in transition, and you help, I need to know it. That said also that if violence occurs in schools, I must know that as a parent, he says so many other things.”
All the Democrats and five Republicans voted against the bill, which adopted the Chamber but not the Senate.
Asked about his current point of view on transgender and sporting bathroom policies, Spanberger said that she wanted to see legislation that would allow individualization for each student affected according to age, type of sport and competitiveness.
“I am the mother of three daughters of Virginia Public Schools, and they participate in all activities at all levels. I recognize the concern that families and members of the community may have the security of their own children, competitiveness, equity,” she told journalists in Roanoke.
“And I think the process that was in place for 10 years worked. It was a situation that took into account individual circumstances and individual communities, and I think this is the process that Virginia should continue to use,” she said, ABC de Roanoke said.

In turn, Spanberger criticized Earle-Sears and said that Virginia was the last in the nation in mathematical recovery of the cocovio-19 pandemic while it was a lieutenant-governor.
“Although I recognize that all the problems are important for all Virginians, I find it doubtful that my opponent does not talk about the problem I know is the number one that everywhere, people speak,” said Spanberger.
