Vice-president JD Vance walked next to the coffin of Charlie Kirk Thursday evening, marking the start of a series of solemn tributes to the conservative figure.
Escorted through the Tarmac at Salt Lake City, Utah, by a detail of porter holders, Kirk’s Casket will move on the Air Force Two, returning it to its original state, Arizona. A video of the moment showed that his wife Erika Frantzve is visibly emotional while the coffin passed in front of her.

Upon his arrival in Phoenix, Frantzve moved Air Force Two while holding the hand of the second Lady Usha Vance. His coffin was transported to Hansen Memorial Chapel. Kirk will be buried in Arizona and President Donald Trump said he would attend the funeral.
Trump told journalists on Thursday evening that he thought that Kirk funeral would take place “next weekend”, adding that he would attend.
The revelation comes as the federal authorities continue to seek the suspect who murdered Kirk during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday’s event, the first of what was to be a series USA Turning Point “American Comeback Tour” was nothing out of the ordinary. Kirk, the charismatic founder of the group of young conservative activists in the country, was recognized for its emblematic political debates on university campuses.

During a press conference Thursday, the authorities say that the suspect “mixed well with a university institution”. In a photo published later by the police, the individual is seen carrying a hat, sunglasses and an American flag t-shirt with an eagle on it.
The FBI called for more public councils, photos and videos to help reconstruct the series of events that led to Kirk’s death.
“We are really counting on public help in these types of cases. No tip is too small or too insignificant,” said FBI special agent Robert Bohls on Thursday.
