Various nationwide beaches due to bacteria before July 4th weekend of vacation

Americans heading to the beach for the weekend of the independence day may want to check if the waters are OK to swim or wade.

Warnings of the high levels of bacteria of public health officials began to appear in various states from one ocean to another.

Vibrio is a bacteria which naturally lives in coastal waters, causing fever, vomiting, diarrhea and cramps, according to American centers for the control and prevention of diseases (CDC).

On the west coast, Californian officials from San Diego have published numerous warnings and closings of popular beaches, noting that certain “levels of bacteria exceed health standards”.

Two Long Island counties, New York, issued similar opinions.

The health officials of the County Suffolk posted: “Benjamin beach in Bay Shore, Ronkonkoma beach in the city of Islip, and Sayville Marina Park beach in Sayville are closed in the bath due to the discovery of bacteria at levels higher than acceptable criteria.”

The beaches will reopen when other tests reveal that bacteria levels have dropped to acceptable levels, the press release said.

Three beaches of the county of Nassau – Hewlett Point, Island Park and Phillip Healey Beach – are under advice after strong precipitation, according to the health department of the county of Nassau (NCDOH).

The beaches will reopen when other tests reveal that bacteria levels have dropped to acceptable levels.

“The runoff of rainwater may have had an impact on the quality of the water on 3 beaches of the southern shore. As a precaution, NCDOH advises swimming in these places. Runwater runoff can increase the levels of bacteria, perhaps exceeding nys standards for a safe bath,” said a press release from NCDOH.

In the Massachusetts, nearly 20 beaches were closed on Wednesday morning.

Seventeen beaches are listed on the “dashboard of the beaches of Massachusetts Department of Health, due to bacteria levels.

The state of Washington lists the opinions of “staying out of water” on seven beaches with “high bacteria” in King County, according to its website.

Michigan has nine closed beaches due to the high levels of “fauna” bacteria and “rainwater runoff”.

Four beaches of the Grand Lake state also have any opinions of contamination.
