Vice-President JD Vance blamed the leader of the Senate minorities on Wednesday, Chuck Schumer, for the closure of the government, claiming that Schumer had listened to far left members of the Democratic Party on his fear of a main challenge from his colleague legislator in New York and progressive member of “Squad” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Vance criticized Schumer and the Democrats of the Congress in remarks on the closure during a press briefing of the White House, saying that there were “many different answers” on the reasons why the Democrats closed the government before having “reality”.

“But the reality here, and let’s be honest about politics, is that Chuck Schumer is terrified, he will get a main challenge in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” said Vance. “The reason why the government of the American people is closed is that Chuck Schumer listens to far left radicals in his own party because he is terrified by a main challenge.”

Vance has also excrupted Schumer, claiming that if the closure persists, the wing of the Senator of the Democratic Party is responsible for the benefits.

“Our troops are not paid from today because of the Democratic Party Chuck Schumer wing,” said the vice-president. “We have people who need food help, low -income Americans who need food assistance, who will only get it if we reopen the government, thanks to Chuck Schumer and its wing of the Democratic Party.

“We have insurance against floods while we start the hurricane season in the southeast part of our country. This flood insurance will disappear because of Chuck Schumer and the far left of the Democratic Party.”

Vance reiterated the legislators to reopen the government, which entered a partial closure Wednesday after the midnight financing date was adopted with the Democrats and the Republicans who were not satisfied with a financing bill.

According to Vance, another reason for which Democrats have forced a closure is that Democrats want to reintegrate federal funding from the Biden era for emergency health care for illegal immigrants who ended with the Trump administration.

“So, I would invite Chuck Schumer to join the moderate democrats and 52 Republicans of the Senate, do the right thing, open the government of the people, then settle the health care policy for the American people,” said Vance.

The White House answered a separate question after Vance’s remarks on Schumer and Ocasio-Cortez.

“I think Senator Schumer certainly did not expect three moderate to break with him last night,” said the white house press secretary Karoline Leavitt. “In fact, last night, you heard Senator Schumer say that he cannot guarantee that he will be able to hold his caucus together.”

Leavitt said the White House encourages Democrats to “the courage to do the right thing” and vote on the resolution to maintain the funded government.
