FIRST ON FOX: An illegal immigrant with a New York State commercial driver’s license with “NO NAME GIVEN” as his name was arrested by ICE in Oklahoma, according to DHS.

The agency said it was working with the U.S. Department of Transportation as well as state and local law enforcement to keep illegal truck drivers off U.S. highways following the high-profile crash involving Indian illegal worker Harjinder Singh.

Working with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, ICE arrested another illegal Indian alien named Anmol Anmol. DHS said Anmol held a New York commercial driver’s license that listed his first name as “NO NAME GIVEN.”

A redacted photo of the license obtained by Fox News Digital shows that it is a Class A CDL issued in April and valid until May 2028. There is a star in the upper right corner of the license, indicating that it is a REAL ID.

Anmol was arrested by ICE on September 23, 2025, during a routine inspection at a weighbridge on I-40. Records checks by ICE revealed that Anmol is an illegal alien from India who entered the country in 2023. DHS said he was released by the Biden administration into the country.

Anmol is now placed in removal proceedings.

Commenting on Anmol’s arrest, DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that “New York not only fails to verify whether applicants wishing to drive 18-wheelers are U.S. citizens, but even fails to obtain the full legal names of people to whom they issue commercial driver’s licenses.”

“Allowing illegal aliens to obtain commercial driver’s licenses to drive 18-wheelers and transport hazardous materials on America’s roads is reckless and incredibly dangerous to public safety. Thanks to the successful 287g partnership between ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Anmol Anmol no longer poses a threat to drivers,” McLaughlin added.

“DHS is working with our state and local partners to keep illegal alien truck drivers who often do not know basic rules of the road off our highways.”

An official with the New York Department of Motor Vehicles, however, disputed the license holder’s illegal status, telling Fox News Digital that the person holding the license had legal status in the United States through a federal work authorization issued in March and “obtained a license that complied with federal guidelines.”

“This commercial driver’s license was issued in accordance with all proper procedures, including verification of the individual’s identity through federally issued documents,” the official said, adding that “it is not uncommon for individuals from other countries to have only one name.”

The official said that “the procedures to follow are clearly spelled out in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services policy manual,” and added that “it is important to note that federal documents also include the notation ‘no name’.”

In response, McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that “the Biden administration granted this illegal alien work authorization in 2023” and that “the work authorization does not give anyone legal immigration status.”

McLaughlin called it “crazy that New York is issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.”

“New York State needs to stop passing the buck and admit that it needs to have higher standards for issuing commercial driver’s licenses. They put the safety of all American drivers at risk,” McLaughlin said.

Pressed by Fox News Digital about Anmol’s immigration status, a New York DMV official said, “Any questions regarding immigration paperwork should be directed to the federal government.” »

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Oklahoma Republican Governor Stitt said that “if New York wants to hand out CDLs to unnamed illegal immigrants, that’s their responsibility. The moment they cross into Oklahoma, they answer to our laws.”

The arrest was part of a three-day operation, September 23-25, targeting public safety threats along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma. ICE was able to work collaboratively with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol through the state’s 287(g) program, which allows state and local law enforcement agencies to cooperate directly with ICE.

During this period, ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested 120 illegal aliens, 91 of whom were operating a commercial vehicle with a commercial driver’s license issued by sanctuary states. Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt’s office said the operation arrested illegal immigrants from India, Uzbekistan, China, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Mauritania.

Stitt’s office said the arrested illegal immigrants posed a risk to public safety “by operating 80,000-pound commercial vehicles without proper vetting.”

According to DHS, other illegal immigrants arrested during the operation included aliens with prior convictions for driving under the influence, money laundering, human trafficking, assault, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and illegal reentry into the United States.

Among those arrested was Guatemalan national Kevin Ivan Escobar-Dionicio, who has a criminal history including human trafficking and money laundering. Another illegal Guatemalan arrested during the operation, Alfredo Sanic Chipix, had already been charged with assault.

Another Russian, Firuz Khamidov, was arrested and charged with forgery.

This comes amid national concerns about illegal aliens driving commercial trucks on U.S. highways, following the high-profile case of Harjinder Singh, who is charged with three counts of vehicular homicide in St. Lucie County, Florida, for his involvement in an Aug. 12 fatal crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Singh held a commercial driver’s license issued in the state of California.

The U.S. Department of Transportation said Singh earned a CDL despite failing an assessment of his English skills and correctly identifying only one out of four traffic signs on the same test.

Singh’s case has sparked national concerns about how widespread a public safety problem related to illegal aliens driving on U.S. roads could be.

Commenting on Operation Guardian Sweep, ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan said illegal aliens “don’t have to drive 18-wheelers on America’s highways.”

Sheahan said the operation “clearly demonstrates how federal and local law enforcement can work together to make America safe again” and that “our roads are now safer with these illegal aliens no longer behind the wheel.”

She encouraged more state and local law enforcement agencies to join the 287(g) program “to help eliminate threats to public safety and receive reimbursement funds available to our law enforcement partners.”
