Tsunami waves arrived on the eastern coast of Japan after a powerful earthquake off the eastern coast of Russia.

The earthquake of magnitude 8.8 sparked the fears of a tsunami in a large part of the Pacific Ocean basin, including the banks of Hawaii, southern Alaska, all of the American West Coast and British Columbia.

Tsunami’s warnings are in force for Hawaii and certain parts of Alaska, while the entire American West Coast and British Columbia are under tsunami opinion after the earthquake struck just east of Petropavlovsk, Russia, according to Fox Weather.
