President Donald Trump told journalists on Friday that the indictment against the former FBI director James Comey was aimed at continuing longtime corruption and not on political reimbursement.
“This is really justice, it is not a revenge,” said Trump when leaving the White House. “It is also the fact that you cannot let this continue. They are sick, radical who left people, and they cannot get away with it, and Comey was one of the people.”
“He was not the biggest, but he is a dirty cop,” added Trump. “He has always been a dirty cop. Everyone knew it.”

Trump’s comments came after Comey was accused By a large jury for having allegedly lied to the congress and hindered a convention procedure. It was charged with two charges: false declarations presumed within the framework of the jurisdiction of the legislative branch and the obstruction of a convention procedure.
The president argued that Comey gave a strong but falsely oath response and, finally, “was lied”.
“The only problem is for him, he did not think he would be taken, and he was caught,” said Trump, stressing that Comey could have hidden or said he did not remember, but he rather gave a very specific answer.
“It is justice. He lied. He lied a lot,” said Trump. “He gave a very specific answer, then he checked it several times, and he was caught.”

The Ministry of Justice seeks to charge the former director of the FBI, James Comey, for having allegedly lied to the congress
Comey was charged by a large jury following an investigation centered on the question of whether he lied to the congress at his September 30, 2020, testimony to his management of the original Trump-Russia investigation at the FBI, known inside the office under the name of “Crossfire Hurricane”.
Comey denied allegations, declaring himself innocent and labeling the accusations politically motivated by the Ministry of Justice of Trump.
“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to resist Donald Trump, but we could not imagine living differently,” said Comey in an Instagram video after his indictment. “We will not live on your knees, and you should not either. Someone I love very recently says that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and it is right.”
“But I’m not afraid,” added Comey.

The indictment also alleys that Comey made a false statement when he said that he had not authorized someone at the FBI be an anonymous source. According to the indictment, this declaration was false.
Comey’s indictment was set at 10 a.m. on October 9 before the district judge Michael S. Nachmanoff, a judge appointed by former president Joe Biden.
