President Donald Trump has strongly criticized a wave of European nations that recently recognized a Palestinian state, warning that these movements reward Hamas and encourage continuous conflicts in Gaza.
“As everyone knows, I was also deeply engaged in the search for a ceasefire in Gaza. I have to do it. You have to do it,” said Trump.
“Unfortunately, Hamas has repeatedly rejected reasonable offers to make peace. We cannot forget on October 7, can we? Now, as if to encourage continuous conflicts, part of this body seeks to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state … It would be a reward for these horrible atrocities, including October 7.”
His remarks occurred one day after the French president Emmanuel Macron announced that his nation would recognize a Palestinian state, organizing a meeting in the United Nations General Assembly with Saudi Arabia on a two -state solution.

Several other longtime Israeli allies – the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada – have done the same on Sunday, citing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and extending colonies and violence by settlers in the West Bank.
The United States remains squarely on the side of Israel, and Trump said that such recognition is undergoing efforts to release the hostages held in Gaza and the risks embraced Hamas.
“Even if they refuse to release the hostages or accept the ceasefire, instead of giving Hamas and giving so many things because they took so many things, they took so much. It could have been resolved so long ago,” said Trump. “Instead of giving in Hamas like ransom, those who want peace should be united to a message: release the hostages now. Just release the hostages.”
Trump said he had always known that the last 20 remaining hostages would be “the most difficult” to recover – but said that the deceased bodies were just as important to recover.
“These parents came to see me and they want them to come back … as if they were alive. They want them just as much as if their son or daughter were alive.”
On Monday, France became the first great western nuclear power and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council of the G7 to officially recognize a Palestinian State.

Macron said: “The time has come to no longer talk about the existence of Israel – it was obvious. The time has come to do justice to the Palestinians, to recognize the state of Palestine.”
“We have to do it to save lives.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli Ambassador of the UN Danny Danon warned that there will be “consequences” for the nations which recognize a Palestinian state.
