President Donald Trump leaves for Scotland Friday for a five -day trip where he will check with his golf stations in Turnberry and Aberdeen, as well as with British Prime Minister Kier Starmer and the Scottish Head of Government, Prime Minister John Swinney.

“We are different people, and we have different political history and political trends, but we have a good relationship and that comes from a certain number of places,” Starmer told BBC’s “political thought”. “I think I understand what anchors the president, what really cares for him.”

“The visit will require a major police operation using local, national and specialized resources from the whole of the police, supported by colleagues from other British police forces in the context of mutual aid agreements,” she added.
Trump will return to the United Kingdom in September for an official state visit, where he will meet King Charles III at the Château de Windsor.
The visit will mark the first time that the United Kingdom has invited an American president for a second state visit.
