Trump Transportation Head Blâme Biden, Buttigieg for an “unprecedented backwards” of security projects

Transport secretary, Sean Duffy, slams the Biden administration, in particular the former transport secretary Pete Buttigieg, for having left an “unprecedented backward” of critical improvements in infrastructure safety across the country.
A Buttigieg spokesman, who is a candidate for the Democratic presidential election in 2028, rejected the criticisms of the dowry as “nonsense”.
This week, Duffy announced that its department forced four subsidies, totaling $ 42 million, to improve the security of Brightline High Speed Railway in Florida, which goes from Miami to Orlando. According to the ministry, the subsidies were announced and presented under the direction of Buttigieg, but the Biden administration has never really delivered to the obligation of these funds.
The DOT said that the Trump administration inherited a backlog of more than 3,200 subsidies that have been announced but never forced by Buttigieg-Biden. The ministry said it “delayed critical investments in communities across the country”.

In Florida, the oldest subsidy is now obliged by the Trump administration was announced for the first time three years ago in 2022. The ministry said that “after a lot of fanfare, their administration did no work to treat and deliver these funds to Brightline or project sponsors in Florida”.
DOT said that these unsatisfied subsidies should help install safety fences, level crossing upgrades and an intrusion alert system. The subsidies included 24.9 million dollars for a project to attend and mitigate intrusions, $ 15.4 million for a sealed corridor project of the Broward county, $ 1.6 million for an intrusion identification and classification system and a $ 150,000 grant for Sheriff’s Sheriff of Palm Beach to support excessive costs of the application of intrusion for pedestrians for hot spots.
“DUFFY under-secretary, the Ministry of Transport works with diligence to accelerate the distribution of these funds expected for a long time and to process basic infrastructure projects,” said DOT.
In the press release, Duffy described the unsatisfied security subsidies “the last consequence of the rear of unprecedented Biden-Buttigieg”.
One of the decisive moments of the buttigieg mandate as a transport secretary involved a large train wreck who released toxic materials in East Palestine, Ohio, in 2023. Although Buttigieg was criticized for his management of the crisis, he blamed the Trump administration for restoring rail regulation due to a law adopted in 2015.
“Their inability to perform on these rail subsidies – some of which are testing – have put the three million annual passengers from Brightline and the communities of Florida in unnecessary danger,” said Duffy. “Under the direction of President Trump, America is built again. We provide critical resources in record time to improve the safety of our railways, our roads and our bridges.”
Buttigieg “did nothing,” says Duffy: “ Pete seems to be wandered by being a secretary of the cabinet ”

In response, Chris Meagher, a spokesperson for Buttigieg, rejected the criticisms of the dowry as “more than the same nonsense that we have heard in the past”.
“We have invested in more projects than any administration in the past, and more than 22,000 projects have been completed during pete time in power,” Meagher told Fox News Digital.
He said that during the buttigieg mandate, the DOT announced more than $ 390 billion in funding for more than 78,000 projects, including more than 22,000, including 445 rail projects, more than 200,000 miles of repairs and road improvements, more than 12,300 projects to build, repair and modernize bridges and other projects.
He noted that “some of these projects take time to do well”.
“As with any change of administration, he then becomes the work of the entrant administration to finish work, which is not new,” said Meagher. “What is new is that the current office holder complains instead of simply doing the work.”

A Trump Dot spokesperson, on the other hand, told Fox News Digital that, although Buttigieg and Biden “spoke a big game”, their backwards “said a lot”.

“They did not do the work hard to obtain critical infrastructure funds through the door. Instead, they spent their time wasting billions for Dei programs and worrying about whether the term cockpit was offensive,” said the spokesperson.
“The contrast here could not be clearer,” continued the spokesperson. “In less than a year, Secretary Duffy quickly moved to clarify the backlog and invest in real infrastructure projects like these railway subsidies. Brightline horsemen and Florida communities will be safer because of this.”
