President Donald Trump threatened a trial on the “Blue Slip” tradition of the Senate on Monday which, according to him, makes him “impossible” for him to appoint an American judge or lawyer.
Trump made the comments to journalists from the oval office while signing decrees concerning the elimination of bond policies without species.
“We will also file a complaint on the blue shift,” said Trump. “You know, the blue briefs make me impossible as president to appoint an American judge or lawyer because they have an agreement of gentlemen who is about 100 years old.”
The Slip Blue, which is the practice of ensuring that the senators of a State give their approval to the candidates for positions in their state such as federal judges and American lawyers, is a long -standing tradition but not a codified law. Constitutionally, the president has the power to appoint while the Senate approves or ultimately rejects this appointment.

Trump’s frustration towards the practice of the Blue Slip of the Senate is not new. In July, he described the tradition of “hoax” and a “scam” used by the Democrats to block his candidates and asked Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, stop supporting them.

Grassley defended the centenary process, affirming that it considers it as a standard which deserves to be preserved for the balance and the contributions of the State.
Trump castigated the tradition on Sunday, telling Grassley in a Social media message That it should tell Democrats to “go to hell” on the use of Blue Slips to block his candidates.
