President Donald Trump brought back the warnings of former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev on the war with the United States, saying to the Vice-President of the Russian Security Council to “monitor his words”.

“I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can remove their dead savings together, for everything I care,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at midnight on Thursday. “We have done very little business with India, their prices are too high, among the highest in the world. Likewise, Russia and the United States do almost no deal. Beware thus, and let’s say to Medvedev, the former president of Russia, who thinks he is still president, to look at his words. He enters a very dangerous territory!”

In response to Trump’s post, Medvedev referred to the “dead hand” of Russia – the automated nuclear retaliation system of the Cold War developed by the Soviet Union.

“If a few words from a former Russian president provoke such a nervous reaction from the supposedly powerful president of the United States, then clearly Russia is on the right – and will continue on his chosen path,” wrote Medvedev on Telegram.

“And for everything that talks about the” dead economies “of India and Russia, or” venture into a dangerous territory “-well, maybe he should review some of his favorite zombie films,” he added. “And also remember how much mythical” dead hand “can be dangerous.”

In theory, the “dead hand”, described by the West in the 1980s, as a Russian system of the day of the day, is supposed to guarantee a massive retaliation nuclear strike even if Moscow leadership is destroyed or incapable.

During his stay in Scotland on Monday, Trump warned in public remarks that Russian President Vladimir Putin had 10 or 12 days to conclude a cease-fire agreement with Ukraine, shortening a deadline of 50 previous days which he delivered earlier this month. If Russia does not do so, Trump has promised more “sanctions, prices and perhaps secondary prices” against Moscow and buyers of Russian and energy goods. He deplored that repeated talks with Putin have led to little progress towards peace.

“Trump plays the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10,” complains Medvedev in a post to X earlier this week. “He must remember 2 things: 1. Russia is not Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Do not go down on the Somnolente road Joe!”

Trump on Wednesday announced on Wednesday a price of 25% on imports from India – one of the largest consumers of Russian oil, next to China – from August 1. The president described India as a “friend”, but criticized the “non-monetary” trade “trade barriers of the South Asian country. Trump has promised other “sanctions” not specified against India for having bought most of its military equipment from Russia and Russian energy “at a time when everyone wants Russia to stop murder in Ukraine”.

At an unrelated press conference, Trump noted that India and Russia are founding members of Brics,, Originally trained as a counterweight to Western institutions.

The BRICS are “essentially a group of countries that are anti-United States and in India is a member, if you can believe it. This is an attack on the dollar. And we are not going to attack the dollar,” said Trump. “We have a huge deficit.”

In recent days, Medvedev has also shred down the framework of the trade agreement that Trump concluded with the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during his recent trip to Scotland.

Trump has repeatedly communicated that commercial transactions with other countries would be subject to the alignment of foreign policy with the United States.

For example, after Canada announced that it supported the Palestinian state in the middle of the War of Israel against Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Trump wrote on Thursday: “It will make us very difficult to conclude a trade agreement with them.”

Trump, on the other hand, celebrated this reciprocal tariff plan on Thursday after telling journalists on Wednesday that they brought “billions” of dollars to the American economy.

“The prices again make America large and rich,” Trump wrote on social networks. “They were successfully used against the United States for decades and, coupled with truly stupid, pathetic and twisted politicians, we have a devastating impact on the future, and even survival, of our country. Now, the tide has completely transformed, and America has managed to upset this wave of prices used against this.”
