Trump signs proclamation for Abbey Gate Attack who killed 13 soldiers

President Donald Trump signed a proclamation commemorating the anniversary of the abbey attack on Monday during the withdrawal of Afghanistan, which cost the life of 13 members of the military service.
Trump was surrounded by families of gold stars when he signed the proclamation at the White House.
“We remember these great souls 13, but we also remember people who were so seriously injured, our soldiers, 32 of whom approximately,” he said. “We understand that this should never have happened, should never have been allowed to happen.”

Vice-president JD Vance, who served in the Marines, said that Monday’s event was a “rectification of a wrong”.
“The fact that the President of the United States has lost your loved ones by incompetence, but has never recognized it in your government, has never really put a pen on paper to say that we are grateful for your sacrifice,” he said about former president Joe Biden.
The Biden administration was strongly criticized for the attack and the way in which the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan was executed.
In 2021, Biden withdrew the American troops from Afghanistan, according to the existing plans of the first Trump administration in 2020 with Taliban leaders to end the war in the region. Biden faced a meticulous examination after the withdrawal while the Taliban quickly resumed Afghanistan and more than a dozen American soldiers died by supporting the evacuation efforts.
Defense secretary Pete Hegseth said that the abbey’s bombing convinced Russian President Vladimir Putin to start his war with Ukraine.
“Because he saw how incompetent our soldiers were under Biden,” he said. “The military must respond to what happened in Afghanistan.”
