President Donald Trump is calling for approval by Texas legislators from a radical redistribution plan to add five new seats to the GOP Congress a “big victory” for the Republicans.
Trump pulled a post via the social truth welcoming the state to “never drop us”, saying that victory was more than a victory of the state but a national turning point. He continued by urging other states led by the Republicans to follow the example of the Star State.
“Great victory for the great state of Texas !!! everything has passed, on our way to five other seats in the congress and saving your rights, your freedoms and your country, itself. Texas never lets us fall. Florida, Indiana and others seek to do the same.

Trump also suggested that a movement in this direction could guarantee up to 100 additional seats for the GOP nationwide if they follow the plunge.
“But the Republicans, there is still one thing even better – stop voting by mail, total fraud that has no limits. Also, go to paper ballots before it is too late – at a tenth cost, faster and more reliable. If we do these two things, we will take 100 more seats, and the twisted politics game is finished.
The Texas Republicans pushed the new Congress card in the State House on Wednesday in a vote of 88 to 52 parties of the party, dismissing democratic objections in order to strengthen the grip of the GOP on the Congress in 2026.

While Trump celebrated the redistribution as a major republican victory, the Democrats conceived it as the start of a much greater legal battle.
“This part of the fight is over, but this is only the first chapter … Our best blow is in the courts. It’s not over. We will continue to fight,” said Houston Gene Wu representative.
The Democrats of Texas House also accused the GOP of having tried to dilute the minority voting power, saying that the card was illegal and racial discriminatory.

“Members break my hearts to see how this illegal and rigged and mid-Decennie redistribution program divides our state and our country,” said representative Chris Turner, a democrat. “It’s Texas, it’s not Washington DC The impulses of external politicians and their billionaire donors should not dictate what we do in this room, in this house.”
“This process was a total imposture from the start … It is a racist takeover which goes especially after our African-American and Latino representatives,” said representative Jon Rosenthal
The Republicans defended the card as necessary to reflect population growth and protect the representation of voters.
“Different from everyone, I tell you, I don’t beat in the bush,” said representative Todd Hunter about the card’s goal. “We have five new districts, and these five new districts are based on political performance.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom and California Democrats unveiled their new card last week in order to cancel the Map that Les Républicains du Texas created. If this bill is adopted, it would create five new districts of the Democrat Congress which would thwart Texas.
The duel cards highlight the struggle with high issues for the control of the house, the two parties using the redistribution to try to lock their advantage before 2026.
