Trump rents the Patriote anti -missile defense system to meet Zelenskyy

President Donald TrumpMeeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, praised the strength of the American military-industrial base and stressed that American weapons are the key to kyiv’s resistance against Russia.

“You mentioned the Patriots – how much is it?” Trump asked Zelenskyy, referring to Raytheon’s missile system.

“They are literally 100% infallible. It’s really like two bullets that hit the air,” said Trump, describing the Patriot’s boost technology.

Trump said that in his administration, American policy focused on the sale of military technology to European allies instead of funding arms packages directly. He estimated that under former president Joe Biden, Washington provided Kyiv more than $ 300 billion in American military equipment.

“We don’t give anything now,” said Trump when we asked what the United States will continue to give to Ukraine. “We sell weapons.”

Zelenskyy thanked Trump for the advisability of buying American manufacturing equipment and noted that Europe and NATO allies have helped Ukraine to cover costs.

The American patriotic missile system, built and raised for war by Raytheon, has become the cornerstone of Ukraine air defense, in particular around kyiv and other big cities.

The Patriot system – which for the monitoring of progressive tables on the target – is designed to intercept the inbound short -range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones, which makes it well suited to defend Ukraine against almost constant Russian strikes. Ukraine has received several batteries of patriotic missiles so far, with at least three from the United States, two from Germany and another from Romania.
