First on Fox: A chamber legislator appoints President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize after negotiating a cease-fire contract between Israel and Iran.
Representative Buddy Carter, R-GA., Wrote to the Nobel Peace Prize committee, declaring that Trump had an “extraordinary and historical role” in the implementation “of the armed conflict between Israel and Iran and preventing the greatest sponsor of state terrorism from the most deadly weapon on the planet”.
Trump said the “12-day war” ended late Monday afternoon with a ceasefire that was to come into force on Tuesday.
It ends a little more than a week after Israel launched a preventive strike against Iran, arguing that Tehran was dangerously close to obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The two countries subsequently exchanged rocket fire over the following days, and during the weekend, the United States launched its own air strikes out of three of the main nuclear installations in Iran.
Iran responded by shooting on a American air base on Monday in Qatar, but not without giving an opinion in advance and Qatari officials. No injury has been reported in this attack.
“The influence of President Trump has helped to forge a rapid agreement that many believed it was impossible. President Trump has also taken daring and decisive actions to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions and ensure that the largest sponsor of state terrorism remains unable to acquire a nuclear weapon,” Carter wrote in his letter.
He said that Trump’s management through the crisis “illustrates the very ideals that the Nobel Peace Prize is trying to recognize: the pursuit of peace, the prevention of war and the progression of international harmony. In a region, afflicted by historical animosity and political volatility, such a breakthrough requires both courage and clarity.”

“President Trump demonstrated both, offering the world a rare preview of hope. For these reasons, I respectfully submit this appointment to Donald J. Trump, 47th President of the United States, to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Carter finished.
This is not the first time that Trump has been nominated for the price, although he has not yet won.
Representative Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Tarped Trump for the price earlier this year, arguing that his electoral victory in 2024 had an “surprisingly effective impact” on world peace.
According to the Nobel Prize websiteThere have been 338 nominated candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 so far.
Carter, who also presents himself in the Senate in Georgia, presented several notable bills this year supporting Trump, although many have been considered largely symbolic.
The Republican of Georgia introduced legislation to rename the Greenland “Red, White and Blueland” after Trump expressed his interest in taking the territory. He is also the author of a bill to let Trump sell a federal building in California by the name of the former speaker of the Nancy Pelosi Chamber, D-Calif.

However, as for the conflict in the Middle East, it seems that tenuous peace risks to collapse Tuesday morning.
Carter’s appointment for Trump comes shortly after accused Iran Iran of their ceasefire agreement, which Tehran denied.
