President Donald Trump’s United States Attorney General Pam Bondi is traveling to block a controversial law of Illinois recently signed by Democratic Governor JB Pritzker extending student financial aid, including school rates and scholarships in the United States, illegal immigrants.
In a Tuesday press release, the Ministry of Justice announced that it had filed a complaint in the South Illinois district against the State, Pritzker, the Attorney General Kwame Raoul, also a democrat, as well as the boards of directors of the universities of the State of Illinois.
The Doj seeks to prevent the State from promulgating its laws by granting illegal financial aid of immigrants, who, according to the MJ, violates the federal law by unconstitutionally discrimination against American citizens.
In its complaint, the DoJ stipulates that “the federal law prohibits foreigners who are not legally present in the United States with a post-secondary training service on the basis of the residence, unless this benefit is also available for American citizens and nationals, whatever their residence.”
For this reason, the complaint alleges that the law of Illinois is a “blatant and continuous violation of federal law”.

In the DOJ’s declaration, American lawyer Steven Weinhoeft for the South Illinois district said that “Illinois has an apparent desire to win an” downward race “as the country’s main sanctuary state”.
Weinhoeft said that “the erroneous approach of Illinois forcing tuition fees in the state, scholarships and financial aid to illegal foreigners clearly violates federal law” and that “this policy deals with illegal foreigners better than American citizens living in other states and encourages even more illegal immigration, all on the ten of taxpayer”.
“The citizens of Illinois deserve better,” he said.
Bondi said that “this Ministry of Justice has already filed several prosecution to prevent American students from being treated as second -class citizens – Illinois is now joining the list of states where we are relentlessly fighting to confirm federal law”.
In response to the complaint, a spokesperson for the Pritzker office told Fox News Digital that “this is another blatant attempt to strip the Illinois of resources and opportunities”.
“While the Trump administration removes federal resources from all Americans, Illinois provides coherent and inclusive educational paths for all students – including immigrants and first generation students – to access support and contribute to our state,” said the spokesperson. “All Illinoisans deserve a fair blow to obtain education and our programs and policies comply with federal laws.”

In August, Pritzker, which is a Democratic presidential competitor in 2028, signed a bill by opening financial assistance from students to all residents of Illinois, regardless of immigration status, opening a course for illegal immigrants residing in the State to receive educational financial advantages.
The bill claims to establish “equitable eligibility for financial assistance and benefits” for all students of the State.
The bill indicates that “a student who is a resident of Illinois and who is not otherwise eligible for federal financial aid, including, but without limiting himself, a transgender student who is disqualified so as not to register for a selective service or a non -citizen student who has not obtained a lawful lawful residence, will be eligible for financial assistance and advantages”. “”
The law was strongly criticized by the parents of the state.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Michelle Cunney, a mother of Illinois and a head of the rights section of local parents in education, described the new law as a “nightmare”.

“To be honest, it is terrifying that not only do we have to pay for that, as you know, citizens taxed … But also, as parents, not knowing how it will really affect our children and their education,” said Cunney.

She said that under the leadership of Pritzker, “we know that children who are not legally obtaining here will get … More luck and an opportunity to obtain scholarships and all our children, because for Pritzker, and so many others, we are not important. We are nothing other than money.”
A spokesperson for the Raoul office told Fox News office that the office “examines the case and has no other comments.”
