In his long address at the United Nations General Assembly, Trump accused NATO allies of “finance the war against themselves”.

“Who devilish has already heard of that one?” Said Trump.

“China and India are the main donors of the current war by continuing to buy Russian oil,” he said. “But inexcusably, even the NATO countries have not cut a lot of Russian energy and Russian energy products, which, as you know, discovered about two weeks ago, and I was not happy.”

European nations have radically reduced their dependence on Moscow oil after the Russian president Vladimir Putin February 2022 Invasion of Ukraine, although they did not completely cut it.

Hungary, Slovakia, France, Belgium and Spain remain the main importers of European Russian energy.

While Hungary and Slovakia continue to buy Russian oil, France is the second largest European Russian energy buyer and continues to import liquefied natural gas (LNG).

LNG has largely bypassed EU sanctions and the continuous importation of Russian energy in Paris is reduced to pre -existing contracts “take or pay” which are going through the early 2030s, which require France continuing to import energy or cope with penalties.

Trump earlier this month challenged European nations who continue to buy Russian oil, but on Tuesday he adjusted his comments to include all Russian energy imports-including a change that one day came after France’s break with the United States on the Palestinian state issue.

“In the event that Russia is not ready to conclude an agreement to put an end to the war, then the United States is fully ready to impose a very strong round of powerful prices, which would stop the bloodshed, I believe, very quickly,” said Trump. “But for these prices to be effective, the European nations, you are all gathered here at the moment, should join us to adopt the same measures.”

“You are much closer to the city. We have an ocean between the two. You are there, and Europe must intensify it,” he added. “They must immediately stop all energy purchases in Russia, otherwise we all waste a lot of time.”

Trump said he would speak with European leaders of the question during the UN this week.
