President Donald Trump criticized Democratic legislators on Monday evening for closing the government in the middle of one of the “most successful economies”, calling them to reopen the government this evening.
“Democrats have closed the US government in the midst of one of the most prosperous economies, including a record stock market, which our country has ever had,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Unfortunately, this has affected so many programs, services and other elements of the company on which the Americans count – and that should not have happened.
“I am happy to work with Democrats on their failed health policies, or anything else, but they must first allow our government to reopen,” he added. “In fact, they should open our government this evening!”
Trump made the post after the Democrats in the Senate still blocked republican efforts to reopen the government, ensuring that the closure will last at least a week.

The head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., and most Democrats say that they do not support government funding unless the congress accepts to extend subsidies to the expiration of Obamacare.
The head of the majority of the Senate, John Thune, RS.D., needs at least eight democrats to support the GOP bill, which would reopen the government until November 21. Until now, only John Fetterman, d-pa., Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., And Ange King, I-Maine, has broken the ranks to end the slit, while Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky.
Democrats warn that without an agreement to expand the expiration subsidies this year, millions could face solar bonuses. The two parties say they want an agreement but remain divided when solving the problem.

Schumer also wants the assurance that Trump will sign any agreement, pointing to the expected resistance of the Republicans of the Chamber.
“We need the involved president,” said Schumer. “(The president of the Mike room) Johnson and many of his caucus do not like ACA, do not want to do the extensions. Many republican senators in the Senate do, but they are not sufficient. The good is not enough.
