Russian forces launched a massive drone and missile dam in Ukraine on Sunday, killing at least four people.
The strike, mainly targeting the capital of kyiv, was the first major air attack since Russia launched its greatest dam in war last month. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city administration of kyiv, confirmed the victims of Sunday via Telegram and said that 10 people had also been injured in the attack. One of those killed was a 12-year-old girl, he said.
“The Russians have restarted the child’s death counter,” wrote Tkachenko.
Russia pulled a total of 595 explosive drones and lures and 48 missiles, the Ukraine air force said on Sunday. Among these, the air defenses have shot or blocked 566 drones and 45 missiles, they said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the bombing was aimed at the Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolav, Chernihiv and Odesa regions in addition to Kyiv. He said that at least 70 people were injured nationally.
“This vile attack came practically (at) the end of the week of the United Nations General Assembly, and this is exactly Russia declares its real position. Moscow wants to continue to fight and kill, and it deserves the most difficult pressure in the world,” Zelenskyy wrote in a statement on social networks.

The Sunday’s dam comes after President Donald Trump posted a change of tone to Ukraine at the United Nations General Assembly last week. Rather than emphasizing a peace agreement with Putin, Trump rather urged Ukraine to continue Russia in all possible ways.

“I think that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is able to fight and regain all of Ukraine in its original form,” he said on social networks on Tuesday.
“Over time, the patience and financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original borders of the place where this war started, is an option,” added Trump. “Why not?”
