Walz, the Governor of Minnesota and the unique running mate of former vice-president Kamala Harris, threatens to withdraw from the Bipartisan National Governors Association (NGA) for concerns that he does not do enough to push against Trump, according to the Atlantic.

The Atlantic have reported that two anonymous people “familiar with the thoughts of governors” shared that at least two Democratic governors – Walz and his Democratic colleague Laura Kelly, who is the head of the Democrat Governors Association – choose to stop paying their NGA contributions this month.

The two governors will not renew their belonging to the organization by frustration in the face of its inaction against the violations perceived of the rights of the States by the Trump administration.

The point of sale has reported that three other anonymous sources saying that Walz and Kelly are not alone and that the offices of other Democratic governors are also frustrated by the NGA.

One of the anonymous sources has said “when you also pay contributions with taxpayers’ dollars, it must be worth it, and they will have to demonstrate it. At the moment, they are not doing,” said the point of sale.

The source also said “that there were current concerns concerning the NGA among governors and Democratic staff, out of time, for years”.

The NGA has existed as a forum for bipartite collaboration between governors since 1908. The organization lists the 50 governors as well as the leaders of five American territories as members.

Eric Wohlschlegel, director of communications at NGA, told Fox News Digital that the group “exists to bring the governors of the two parties around shared priorities”.

In the midst of the controversy led by Walz, Wohlschlegel said that the “NGA mission had not changed”.

“Each public statement NGA Questions reflects bipartite consensus,” he said. “So far this year, all the declarations except one have had this consensus, and when the governors do not agree, simply not emitting us.

A familiar source with the situation blamed the controversy on “democratic intestine struggles, the tacit campaign jockey and some anonymous voices that seek to reshape a non -partisan institution in a political institution”.

This source stressed that, despite all the sound of the controversy, the NGA summer meeting in Colorado Springs this weekend should have “a record participation rate” with 13 Republicans and seven Democratic leaders.

They also noted that “no governor is in the file expressing dissatisfaction with the NGA. No allegation of misconduct, failure of governance or mismanagement has been raised”.

“What’s behind the noise?” the source added. “There is currently an internal power struggle and no consensus among the Democrats at the moment on how to direct, the message or the way of governing in a divided environment.

“Several Democratic governors compete for national attention, testing messages for future campaigns rather than collaborating in consensual governance,” added the source. “The Bipartisan model of the NGA works exactly as it is supposed to do.

Fox News Digital contacted the offices of the Democratic Governor of Colorado Jared Polis, the outgoing president of the NGA, and the Republican Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, the incoming president, to comment on the Mutinerie Walz.

Although it is not addressed directly to the controversy, Conor Cahill, a spokesperson for Polis, told Fox News Digital that the Governor “was honored” to lead the NGA and to “work through the aisle with the Governors of Education, allowing a reform, resulting from federal efforts to eliminate the proweurs around the national guard and raise the priorities of the States”.

He added that “during this polarizing period, bipartite organizations are more than ever necessary, and NGA must continue to demonstrate value to all governors and effectively communicate the opinions of governors on various questions with the public and the federal government”.

Abegail Cave, spokesperson for Stitt, who will become president of the NGA this weekend, told Fox News Digital “that people seem to forget that NGA is a bipartite, not political organization”.

“It is difficult to come to a bipartite consensus, but the governors of the whole political spectrum come up every day real challenges facing the Americans,” said Cave.

She said that Stitt “can’t wait to direct this organization and find more areas of collaboration during the coming year”.

A source familiar with the problem said: “At a time when the political division often makes the headlines, NGA’s strength lies in space creation so that governors listen, find common ground and direct together, not always through noisy statements, but thanks to stable and principle cooperation. It is a reflection of the value of patience, quiet leadership and sustainable commitment to the common good.”

Fox News Digital also contacted the offices of Walz and Kelly, but did not receive any answers at the time of publication.
