USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on the way to the Middle East from the Southern China Sea, an American official told Fox News.
The Nimitz Strike Group was previously replaced by the USS group Carl Vinson Carrier Strike, who has been deployed for several months, but is now heading for the Middle East before the scheduled date. The two will now be in the Middle East at the same time.
USS Carl Vinson was the only aircraft carrier in the region last Friday, US defense officials told Fox News.

USS Nimitz – Commissioned on May 3, 1975 – is the oldest active aircraft carrier in the US Navy. This is perhaps his last trip to sea, because the Nimitz should be put out of service in 2026. The deployment is significant because the Nimitz was also deployed in 1980 when his helicopters were part of the American effort failed under the name of operation Eagle to save the American hostages which were held on the American effort in Tehran. The United States has been in a shadow war against Iran since then.
USS Nimitz left the Sea of southern China on Monday morning and headed west, Reuters reported, Citing data from the Marine Traffic ship tracking site. Two sources, including a diplomat, told Reuters that the carrier had to attend an official reception in Danang City, in the center of Vietnam on June 20.
It has since been canceled.
One of the sources said that the United States Embassy in Hanoi informed it that the reception was canceled due to “an emerging operational requirement”.
The United States is changing military resources, including ships, in the Middle East in the midst of Israel’s pre-empty attacks against Iranian nuclear installations and leadership and Iranian reprisals that have been continuing for four consecutive days.

American Air Defense Systems and a Navy destroyer helped Israel shoot down ballistic missiles from Iran on Friday, US officials told Fox News.
The United States has both Patriotic Flooring Antiimissile Defense Systems on the ground and high altitude air defense systems in the Middle East capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.
The American navy also asked the destructive USS Thomas Hudner, who is able to defend itself against ballistic missiles, began to sail from the western Mediterranean Sea to the eastern Mediterranean, American officials told Fox News. They said that the navy had also ordered another destroyer to go ahead so that it could be available if requested by the White House.

One of the officials cited the Nimitz, who was in Indo-Pacific at the time, as well as in the USS George Washington, which had just left his port in Japan, because the active ingredients could possibly go up to the Middle East, if it is ordained.
American fighter planes also patrolled in the sky in the Middle East to protect staff and facilities, and the region’s air bases take on additional security precautions, officials said.
As a rule, around 30,000 soldiers are based in the Middle East, and around 40,000 soldiers are now in the region, one of the US officials at the Associated Press said. This number increased up to 43,000 last October in the middle of current tensions between Israel and Iran as well as continuous attacks against commercial and military ships in the Red Sea by the Houthis supported by Iran in Yemen.
Former president Joe Biden first jumped from ships to protect Israel, a close American ally, after the attacks of October 7, 2023 by Hamas terrorists supported by Iran. At the time, he was considered a deterrent against Hezbollah and Iran based in Lebanon.

On October 1, 2024, destroyers of the American navy drew around a dozen interceptors to defend Israel while the country was attacked by more than 200 missiles pulled by Iran.
