The White House warns thousands of federal employees could face layoffs

The federal government may have to dismiss “thousands” of employees if the government closed, warned the press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, warned Thursday.
Leavitt made the comments during a group with journalists outside the White House, saying that administration officials are already playing layoffs.
“Listen, it’s going to be in thousands of people. This is a very good question. And it is something on which the management and budget office and the whole White House team here, once again, should unfortunately work today,” said Leavitt.
“These discussions and conversations, these meetings would not occur if the Democrats had voted to keep the government open,” she added.

Leavitt continued to accuse the Democrats to do politics with the closure, arguing that there is “no good reason” for the Democrats to enable the process.
“They do it for political reasons. They do it because they want to offer health benefits funded by taxpayers to illegal foreigners, which the American people rejected in a rejected election last year,” she said.

President Donald Trump Announced Thursday that he should meet the director of the Management and Budget Office (OMB), Russell Vought, later Thursday, to discuss agencies “is a political scam”.

Vought is responsible for recommending which agencies should face cuts and if these cuts should be temporary or permanent.
“I cannot believe that the radical left democrats have given me this unprecedented opportunity,” wrote Trump on social networks. “They are not stupid people, so maybe it’s their way of wanting, quietly and quickly, making America again great!”
The federal government entered a partial stop Wednesday after the midnight financing date, Democrats and the Republicans did not satisfy themselves with a financing bill.
