The White House calls on the Democrats to the Congress to descend a stormy language towards the immigration forces and customs (ICE) and the agents for customs and border protection (CBP), after a shooter opened fire on agents of the border patrol in an annex installation in McAllen, Texas, on Monday.
The Ministry of Internal Security reported earlier in July than assaults against ice agents and other federal immigration agents increased by almost 700% compared to 2024.
More specifically, the white house press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Democrats like representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dn.y., should organize a meeting with ICE and CBP agents.
The ice director says that progressive Dem should apologize to voters after calling the agency’s “terrorist force”

The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt speaks with journalists in James Brady’s press conference room in the White House on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Washington.
“We certainly call on the Democrats to alleviate their rhetoric against ice and border patrol agents, who, once again, are everyday men and women. I encourage AOC and other Democrats to meet the border patrol of the United States,” Leavitt told journalists on Monday. “They are honorable Americans who simply try to make their work to enforce the law. They return home every evening, just as we all do, and they deserve respect and dignity for having tried to apply the immigration laws of our country and to withdraw the threats of public security of our communities.”
An Ocasio-Cortez spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

The agents and the local police pulled and killed the shooter who opened fire on the agents of the border patrol in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and killed a local police officer, according to officials from the Ministry of Internal Security.
“The agents of the border patrol and the local police helped neutralize the shooter,” said a spokesperson for the DHS in an email at Fox News Digital on Monday. “Two officers and an employee of the border patrol were injured, one of which was a knee. The three of them went to the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation carried out by the FBI.”
The attack occurs in the heels of another shooting near the detention of Prairieland de Ice on Friday, where a Texas police officer was shot in the neck.

“What is disturbed and cruel and scandalous is that, literally, we see ice agents – I suppose that they are ice agents,” said Jayapal in an interview with CNN. “They say they are. They have no identification. They wear masks. They are in simple clothes. They come and remove and disappear people in the streets of the United States.”
