President Donald Trump remains open to meeting the North Korean leader Kim Jong one in the hope of reaching the denuclearization, said the White House, even though Pyongyang warned against any pressure to abandon his nuclear arsenal.

“President Trump, during his first mandate, held three historical summits with the North Korean leader Kim Jong one who stabilized the Korean peninsula and obtained the very first leader level level agreement on the denuclearization,” said a White House official at Fox News Digital.

“The President retains these objectives and remains open to engage with leader Kim to reach a fully denuclearized North Korea.”

Kim Yo Jong, Kim Jong One’s powerful sister, said in the remarks by state media that relations between Trump and his brother are “not bad”. However, she warned that any attempt to pressure North Korea to denuclearize would be considered “nothing other than a mockery”.

She also said that the country’s nuclear arsenal had widened considerably since the last meeting of the two leaders – despite their commitment to pursuing denuclearization – and said that no future summit would be possible if it was centered on nuclear disarmament.

“If the United States does not accept modified reality and persist in the failed past, the RPDC meeting – Us will remain as a” hope “of the American part,” said Kim Yo Jong, referring to the country by his official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Trump held three heights unprecedented with the North Korean leader-which he once nicknamed “Little Rocket Man”-during his first mandate: in Singapore in 2018, Hanoi in 2019, and in the Korean demilitarized zone later that year, where he became the first President Sitted to take a step on the North Korean floor.

During the 2018 summit, Trump and Kim signed a joint declaration committing to “working on a complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula” and to establish new American-Korean relations.

However, the talks broke down during subsequent meetings. North Korea has not abandoned its nuclear weapons and the United States has not raised sanctions. Kim would have sought to dismantle only parts of the regime’s arsenal in exchange for a complete repair of sanctions – a proposal that Trump rejected.

By 2020, the talks had completely stalled and North Korea resumed arms tests.

In a statement Monday commemorating the 72nd anniversary of the end of the Korean War, Trump thought about his meetings with Kim, saying: “I was proud to become the first president in office to cross this demilitarized zone in North Korea.”

He also reaffirmed the American alliance with South Korea, adding: “Although the ills of communism still persist in Asia, the American and South Korean forces remain united in an alliance of all this day.”
