EXCLUSIVE: One of the affordable supporters of the most faithful housing of the GOP in the Chamber calls for the rumors’ rumors of President Donald Trump on the issue a “game changer”.
The president of the Caucus on rue House Main, Mike Flood, R-N-NEB., Who also chairs the housing and insurance subcommittee to the Chamber’s Financial Services Committee, told Fox News Digital that he hoped that Trump finally followed to declare an emergency on housing.
“When you have a shortage of housing and a supply problem, it increases the evaluations, which increases your land taxes, because your evaluation increases. It increases the home insurance premiums because the value of your home is more expensive if there was a kind of complaint,” said Flood.
“Thus, the President of the United States puts his thumb on the scale and says that housing is in a crisis situation, and it is an emergency – which changes the whole conversation.”

The secretary of housing and urban development (HUD), Scott Turner, said on Fox Business on Tuesday that talks were continuing on the issue, but refused to make solid statements before Trump.
“These discussions are underway, not only from the point of view of the Declaration of Emergency, but what can we do to reduce costs … and raise the offer,” said Turner.
House prices soared In recent years, go beyond wage growth and manufacture small houses which were once considered “entrances” for young families out of reach for millions of Americans.
Zoning restrictions, high construction costs, regulatory problems and insufficient levels of new construction have all been named as reasons for the current crisis.
In addition, new prices on materials such as steel, aluminum and wood should add about $ 10,900 to the cost of building a new unifamilial house, according to the National association of house manufacturers.

“He will take the federal government, the governments of the States and the municipalities, in particular, to solve this problem,” said Flood.
He added that his panel also worked on bipartite legislation, expected in October or November, to make housing more affordable nationally.
“We are working in our subcommittee and on the financial services on our efforts which, I think, will take a few steps forward and hope to mark this later this year in October, in November,” said Flood. “But the coming president and making it a priority is what will push this at a light speed through the finish line.”
He added: “I really think we can do something by June of next year.”

Flood also stressed that the affordability of housing is a key electoral problem for Americans.
“Since 2020, we have seen an inflation of 20%, the home insurance premiums are more expensive, mortgage rates are higher. You know, you have all these rules in federal programs that make almost impossible to be very effective with HUD help,” said Flood.
“And with the president double on a question that fascinates me very, I think it will resonate with the Americans, because that is what people speak.”
