The United States Embassy in Jerusalem has published a security alert indicating that workers from the United States government and their families in Israel remain inside, while Iran has struck the Jewish state with drone and missile strikes.
The alert, made for the first time on Saturday morning and published on Sunday morning, arrives when Iranian strikes have so far killed at least 10 people in Israel and injured more than 180.
“Following the current security situation and the continuous conflict between Israel and Iran, the United States Embassy has ordered that all employees of the US government and family members continue to shelter in place until further notice,” said the Embassy alert, displayed on its website and X.

“Given the proximity of missiles and debris impacts, the United States Embassy offered employees living near the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv the possibility of moving voluntarily in new housing,” continued the alert.
Meanwhile, Israeli airspace has remained closed, with arrivals and departures, according to a press release from a spokesperson for the Authority of Israel airports.
The Iranian bombing of Israel came in response to the strikes of Israel against the Iranian nuclear and military targets, which, according to Israeli officials, were preventive measures while Iran was getting closer to developing nuclear weapons.
Iran threatens to hit the American bases in the Middle East: what is the threat level?
“I will tell you what would have happened if we had not acted. We had information that this unscrupulous regime planned to give nuclear weapons that they would develop to their terrorist attorney,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published on Saturday. “It is nuclear terrorism on steroids. It would threaten the whole world.”
Israel has also clearly indicated that the strikes against Tehran are far from over, issuing a warning to the Iranian people.

The FDI contrasts their approach with that of Iran, which launched attacks in civil zones.
“This is the message that we have spread to Iranian citizens. Although Iran chooses to strike without warning, we choose to warn an innocent people (sic) even if it means abandoning the element of surprise,” the FDI told X on Sunday morning. “We warn them, in Persian, on many channels. Because human life comes to us first. This is the difference between us and our enemy.”
