EXCLUSIVE: The best democrat of the joint economic committee will demand Thursday that the Social Security Administration explains a peak in the waiting times of telephone calls after the removal of an online monitoring tool from its website.

The New Hampshire senator, Maggie Hassan, wrote to SSA commissioner, Frank Bisignano, at the agency’s headquarters in Baltimore with “serious concerns concerning the changes in the performance measurements that SSA shares in his public dashboard”.

Hassan also wondered if the cuts centered on the Doges on the Federal Workforce and other assets of the Government played in the situation, citing Washington Post reports on the withdrawal and / or replacement of Tools accessible on the stock market and an independent analysis of minority staff of the joint economic committee.

“Unlike the previous dashboard, the new version also lacks historical data, as well as general processing times for the advantages of retirement, survivor, disability and health insurance,” wrote Hassan in the letter obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital.

“These data and other measures provide a critical performance overview of your agency and have served as a benchmarks for the elderly and other beneficiaries who sail on the process of advantages,” she wrote, adding that calls and recall times, the processing deadlines for the case and other data is no longer easily accessible.

Hassan also wondered if Doge’s actions had precipitated one of the changes.

“The abolition of this information can also obscure the impact of the endowment of deep personnel and resource reductions – driven by the Ministry of Government’s efficiency on the SSA capacity to deliver for the elderly,” said Hassan.

“For these reasons, I invite you to immediately restore all previous measures on the SSA performance dashboard.”

Earlier this month, DOGE won a major victory in its quest for efficiency, while the Supreme Court made an unsigned order raising an injunction of the Federal Court of Maryland on its efforts to access the SSA systems – which, according to criticism, was unfortunate because they contain sensitive data from the Americans.

“(U) not the current circumstances, the SSA can carry out members of the SSA DOGE team access to the files of the agency in question so that these members can do their job,” said the order.

A supposed screenshot of the now paid calling table shared with Fox News Digital showed an increase of around 4% to 28% relaxation from February to March.

However, the SSA said that similar information cited in the Washington Post report is “false”.

“The reality for the appellants to our 800 number is around 42% to manage their business through self-service automated options. And for those who want to speak to a representative, around 75% use the recall assistance functionality-they do not wait for long periods,” said Stephen McGraw, a SSA spokesperson.

“Given the experience of our customers choosing to receive a recall, our average response speed on the number 800 is now about 19 minutes until now this year. In addition, monthly trends are improving and better than the previous two years, because the appellants were just waiting for 12 minutes on the phone before talking to a representative in May compared to 30 minutes.”

McGraw said that waiting times should improve for the rest of the year.

“While Commissioner Bisignano assesses the agency, we update our performance measures to reflect the real experiences of the people we serve and highlight the fastest ways of our customers.”

“It is essential that the agency measures what matters most to improve customer service while providing all Americans with the information they need to select the service channel that suits them best,” said McGraw.

Bisignano has said that the increase in staff is not the long -term solution to the agency’s systemic misfortunes.

He also seemed to approve the idea of DOGE to upgrade technological systems, saying that he wanted SSA to be a “digital organization and technology focused on the public as our focal point”.

Bisignano recognized the latest SSA ranking among government agency for employees, before taking the reins, and said that he also wanted to improve this aspect.

In his letter, Hassan also quoted Doge Work eliminating 7,000 SSA jobs – of which around 4,000 were volunteers. DOGE also sought to update and update SSA technological systems, including a coding regime Called “Cobol” which dates back to the 1950s.

“Consequently, the beneficiaries were faced with service disturbances, error messages and unprecedented failures in tools to plan and manage appointments in field offices across the country,” said Hassan, whose state held around 20% of its population on Social Security in 2023.

Hassan has described several questions for Bisignano, including a real time report before 5 p.m. HE on current recall times, waiting times and others for Thursday.

It has also been investigated in adjustments or deletions on data sets as well as social security processing times for the benefits of retirement, survivors and health insurance, as well as specific data for New Hampshire.
