The socialist candidate in New York Mamdani returns years of funding for police calls

The candidate for the socialist town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, made the headlines this week when he tried to return to his long history dating from 2020 by criticizing the New York police service and calling for funding.
On Wednesday, Mamdani told journalists after the death of an officer of the NYPD in the center of Manhattan that he “did not run to finance the police” and is “a candidate who is not fixed in time, the one who learns and who leads to driving, and part of this means admitting.”
Mamdani added that his calls made to undo the police had been made of “frustration” on the death of George Floyd.
