First on Fox: A duo of the Bipartite house is associated with a resolution to urge the leaders elected in the United States to condemn the expression “globalizing the intifada”.
The legislation, led by representatives Josh Gottheimer, DN.J., and Rudy Yakym, R-Ind., Would condemn the expression “as an appeal to violence against the Israelis and the Jews around the world”.
“Globalize The Intifada”, as a call, has been the subject of national controversy since October 7, 2023, a terrorist attack in Hamas in southern Israel, although it has launched new tension in recent weeks with the refusal of the candidate for the town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, to condemn him publicly. However, he would have recently moved from the slogan at a private meeting.
Although bipartite legislation does not expressly mention Mamdani, the four -page bill is particularly released one day after his trip to meet national democrats in Washington, DC

“Condemn him should be common sense, but some prefer to play politics to tell the truth. The violence and hatred directed against the Jews and the Israelis are reprehensible,” Yakym told Fox News Digital. “No one, especially in America, should have to live in fear for their security, or even their life, because of their religion or their ethnic origin.”
Gottheimer, who is Jewish, said: “” Intifada “refers to a horrible wave of terrorist attacks that have killed thousands of Jews. Globalization is a direct call for violence against the Jews, and it must be condemned”.
“I am against hatred speeches to target anyone-and everyone should be. It is crazy and unacceptable for me that this anti-Semitic rhetoric spreads through our country,” he said.
A moderate democrat who helps direct the caucus of the solvers problem, Gottheimer was one of the Democrats present at the Mamdani breakfast event with representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y. on Wednesday.

Pro-Palestinian activists have banners who include “Globalize The Intifada” during a protest commemorating Nakba day on May 15, 2025, in the Brooklyn borough of New York.
Their legislation cites several cases of violence against the Jews in recent months, in particular the attack on the pro-Israeli demonstrators of Colorado, the fatal shooting of a pair of staff of the Israeli embassy in DC, and a fire fire of the family of the governor of Pennsylvania during the governor of governor Josh Shapiro and his family held a sederpist in Passover.
If it is adopted in the House, the resolution would claim that the legislators believe that “globalizing the intifada” is an “call for violence against the Israeli and Jewish people around the world” which “undermines the security and security of the Israeli and Jewish people in their communities”.
He would also declare that “those who are really engaged in peace in the Middle East should refrain from asserting, singing or displaying the slogan” and “the slogan must be highly and unequivocally condemned by national, state and local leaders”.
“Globalize The Intifada” has become a well-used refrain in pro-Palestine demonstrations through the United States, in response to the invasion of Israel of Gaza after the attack on Hamas.
Others, however, have warned that this is part of an increasingly alarming trend of anti-Semitic rhetoric which has been exploded in the United States since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Mamdani, a self -proclaimed democratic socialist who won the Democratic primary in the New York town hall race, was criticized by his criticism for refusing to condemn the calls to “globalize the intifada”.
However, he is not accused of using the sentence itself.
THE New York Times said Mamdani said at a meeting on Tuesday with business leaders that he “discouraged” the use of the expression.
Like many on the progressive left, he is a fierce critic of the military operation of Israel in Gaza.
