The Republicans warn against the “chaos” while the socialist Mamdani leads the race to the mayor of New York

Mayor Eric Adams abandoned his re -election offer during the weekend – a move that two Republicans told Fox News Digital was the right decision, warning New York faces serious consequences if the current precursor prevails.

Adams announced his decision To leave the race on Sunday in a video of almost nine minutes published on social networks, offering no clue on his plans after leaving his duties, explaining that he was unable to collect the funds for a “serious campaign”.

The race to become the next New York mayor is now a three-person race with the socialist Zohran Mamdani, the former governor Andrew Cuomo and the Republican Curtis Sliwa, and Fox News Digital spoke to several New Yorkers of the place where the race is now.

“While Mayor Adams suddenly dismisses, New York has been awake. The question does not concern personalities – this is a matter of management,” said the state representative Jake Bluncranz, in Fox News Digital. “Let us standardize the ship with the leadership that at least maintains the city that works, or do we put ourselves the largest city in America to a socialist experience that could disentangle public security, go bankrupt our economy and poison our schools? This is the test of skills against chaos.”

Bluncranz complimented Adams for doing something “rare in politics” by putting the “city in front of him” in a movement, he says, gives New Yorkers “a last chance to unite around a credible alternative to extremism”.

The Fox News survey shows support for Cuomo and Sliwa increases slightly with Adams of the race, but Mamdani still has a significant advance, leading Cuomo to 16 points among probable voters.

Republican Inna Vernikov, a councilor of the city of New York, told Fox News Digital that ADAMS “had made the right choice” abandoning the race but stressed that her name would still be on the ballot and called her to “ensure that no voting is wasted” in order to use “each vote” to defeat Mamdani.

“The reality is simple: if we share resources, we strengthen a socialist and anti-American threat for this city,” said Vernikov. “Any detour trained by the ego of this truth will only push us deeper into the soil.”

Cuomo and Sliwa indicated that they would continue to move forward in the race and Mamdani responded on Sunday to Adams news saying: “New Yorkers will turn the page on the policy of big and small ideas.”

“Donald Trump and its billionaire donors could be able to determine the actions of Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo, but they will not dictate the results of this election,” said Mamdani.

In the future, Bluncranz told Fox News Digital that the race should not be supervised in terms of “left against right” but rather “competence against chaos” and “reality against fantasy”.

“If New Yorkers do not see this now, we will wake up and we will wonder how the largest city in the world has become a failed experience,” said Bluncranz.

“The release of Eric Adams is the latest ramp off New York. We come together either a serious leadership that can win – even imperfect leadership – or we let a socialist experience rewrite the flagship city of America. The choice is ours, and the clock is checking, and New York deserves better.”
