In the intensification of the battle of blame on the closure of the federal government, the Republicans are relentless in what they consider the culprit and its reason.

The main Republicans accuse that the head of the Senate minority Chuck Schumer Deep concerns about a main potential challenge in 2028 of a progressive representative of the Rock Star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York colleague often called AOC, forced him to rally the Democrats of the Senate to defeat a financing bill designed by the GOP which would temporarily avoided the closure.

Among the Republicans who plead – Vice -President Jd vance And the president of the room Mike Johnson.

“It’s mainly Chuck Schumer,” said Vance on Wednesday morning in an interview on “Fox and Friends” by Fox News. “He fears that he will obtain a main challenge from the AOC.”

A few hours later, during a white house briefing, Vance continued to shoot Schumer.

“The reality here, and let’s be honest about politics, is that Chuck Schumer is terrified, he will get a main challenge in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” said Vance. “The reason why the government of the American people is closed is that Chuck Schumer listens to far left radicals in his own party because he is terrified by a main challenge.”

How a federal government closure would affect you

Johnson, pushing the same message, said Wednesday morning in an interview on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria“This” there is a reason and only one reason why Chuck Schumer leads the Democrats of this cliff. He tries to obtain a political coverage from the distant corner to the left of his base. He is afraid of a challenge for his Senate seat by AOC or someone like that. “”

Although all the parties are on the saddle of the political battle of closure, that which feels the most heat can be the 74 -year -old Schumer, who has led the Democrats of the Senate for almost a decade.

The closure seems to offer the New York Democrat a second chance, or a recovery after having faced a fierce reaction from the Democratic Party base, which is hungry for a more vocal opposition on the agenda of the second unprecedented mandate of Trump after its decision to vote with the Republicans to avoid a closure of the government last spring.

How the government’s closure has an impact on the economy

Schumer’s decision raised questions about the question of whether he would face a leadership challenge in 15 months when the new congress would be delighted and if he would face an Ocasio-Cortez’s main challenge when the senator was re-elected in 2028.

Ocasio-Cortez, who has long attracted national attention and who this year has teamed up with a longtime progressive champion and twice the second presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders with gatherings across the country, would be reflecting on an offer in Senate 2028 in New York or a race for the White House.

Asked about the theory of Republicans, the member of the group of progressive and diversified members of the room known as the team seemed to dodge the question of its probable political aspirations.

But she said that the closure was “so not on me” in an interview on Wednesday evening On MSNBC.

“I saw senators speculate on this subject, and I saw republican members of the congress say:” Well, oh, if we have this closure, it is because of the AOC. “Well, if this is the case, my office is open and you are free to return and negotiate directly with me,” said Ocasio-Cortez. “If these senators think we have a closure because of me, they are free to enter my office and to negotiate.”

While addressing journalists at Capitol Hill on Wednesday, the president of the Emerita Chamber, Nancy Pelosi, rejected the statement of the Republicans that Eacasio-Cortez “directs” the closure.

“It is not,” said the longtime democrat of California.

And stressing his successor as a Democrat chief of the Chamber, Pelosi stressed that “Hakeem Jeffries is, and it takes a lot of experience, a lot of Caucus unit in terms of point of view. This is what it is. She is a spokesperson for her point of view. Hakeem Jeffries is in the lead.”

And a democratic strategist working on the races in the Senate also minimized the theory of the GOP on Schumer. The strategist, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the closure was more the policy of 2026, when the Democrats aim to win back the majority of the chamber, than about 2028.

While the Republicans have framed the closure as “the closure of Schumer”, the leader of the Senate minority and his party call him “republican closure”.

Democrats insisted that any agreement to prevent a government closure, or now to end the closure, must extend the tax credits for the popular affordable care law (ACA) beyond the end of this year. These credits, on which millions of Americans count to reduce the costs of health plans under the ACA, which was once called Obamacare, should expire unless the congress is.

But most Republicans oppose the extension of credits and argue that the Democrats’ demands would lead to a huge increase in health care funded by taxpayers for immigrants who have illegally entered the country.

“I think it is important for the American people to realize that the distant faction on the left of the Democrats of the Senate has closed the government because we would not give them hundreds of billions of dollars for benefits for illegal foreigners,” said Vance in his “Fox and Friends” interview.

But Schumer, speaking with Fox Business on Wednesday morning, argued that “the American people are on our side, completely and completely. They do not want their health care to be decimated”.

And he accused that the White House and the Republicans of the Congress “refused to speak to us. They should come and speak without conditions because the American people are suffering. Their health care is in ruins”.
