The NFL increases security in offices after a fatal shot at the league headquarters

THE Nfl Increased security in its offices after a lone shooter opened fire at the League headquarters in New York last month, killing four people and injuring an employee of the League.

The executive vice-president of the NFL, Jeff Miller, confirmed the new security measures Outkick, Adding that the league “works with the building and the tenants in the building security building”.

“We are very lucky that our security chief, Cathy Lanier, the former Washington police chief, DC, has enormous experience in this space and that we have great partners in the building when we are looking for means to make it even safer than before.”

Four people were killed and a fifth was injured in the 345 Park Avenue on July 28 when the investigators say that Shane Tamura, 27, from Las Vegas, opened fire while trying to go to the NFL offices. The building also houses the seat of Blackstone.

An NFL employee would have been killed in the hall during the attack. He tried to contact colleagues to warn them of the active shooter before calling 911.

“We honor the four lost innocent lives, notably the Nypd officer Didarul Islam, whose heroism will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with the survivors while they start the difficult journey of physical and emotional recovery.”

Earlier this month, the NFL would have sent a note to the 32 teams advised them to improve security after the fatal shooting.

Among the recommendations were the proposal to have armed agents of the application of laws or security in the buildings of the team and the league when players or staff are present. Another recommendation was weapon projections in these places.

“The Committee recognizes that these changes will affect daily operations and require an investment of time, coordination and resources,” said the service note, according to ESPN. “However, there is no higher priority than the security and the feeling of security of our players, coaches, staff and all those who work in and around our facilities.”
