The New York mayor race sees Mamdani directing Cuomo by two figures in the polls

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he is convinced that he could defeat the candidate and favorite of the Democratic Party Zohran Mamdani in a race for two candidates for the mayor of New York.

“I believe that I beat the deputy,” said Cuomo in a recent interview with Bloomberg News, while he underlined Mamdani, the 33 -year -old Democratic Socialist State legislator who shocked the political world in June by exceeding Cuomo and nine other candidates in the Democrat primary.

But Cuomo, the former governor with three mandates who resigned in 2021 in the midst of several scandals, said that to defeat Mamdani, there must be a successful effort for “Winnow” the mayor field in five current candidates in the most populous city in the country.

Almost all recent surveys in New York mayor indicate that Mamdani has a healthy two -digit lead on Cuomo and the other contenders in the general elections in November.

Mamdani, benefiting from an advance in the polls, now forms his political fire on the biggest Boogeyman in New York dominated by the Democrats – President Donald Trump.
