First on Fox: The navy could soon install a new education examination committee aimed at restoring a “culture of discipline” at the American naval academy and to eliminate any diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) linked to initiatives.

According to a memo project obtained by Fox News Digital, the Board of Directors is made up of “eminent leaders” of the public and private sectors which “undertakes to restore warlike ethics and to bring back meritocracy and responsibility to naval education”.

The project, written in the name of Marine secretary John Phelan and addressed to Scott Duncan, interim assistant secretary of the Navy for the workforce and reserve cases, requests a list of potential candidates to sit on the board of directors.

The proposed council would be responsible for “reinstalling and encouraging a culture of the discipline within the framework of Warrior ethics” and to review the content of the program to guarantee the alignment with the priorities of the Ministry of Defense. He would also be empowered to withdraw any material deemed “inappropriate for the progression of today’s fighter”.

In addition to monitoring the curriculum, the memo calls for a major change in the structure of the faculty. It proposes to extend the number of permanent military teachers from 40 to at least 100, a decision aimed at “attacking imbalances in governance dominated by civilians who weakens the military mission of the Academy”.

As part of the proposed calendar, the board of directors would be established during the first three months, during which it would also examine the admission process and the composition of the faculty. During the following three to six months, he would trigger an overhaul of “ethical training” and recommend updates to the admission section of the Academy.

“It is not a secret for anyone that a reform is necessary for the Naval Academy and in all naval education,” said Phelan in a press release at Fox News Digital. “The previous administration inculcated corrosive Dei programs in the academy’s program and has enabled identity policy and upon alarm to prioritize war fights, leadership and critical thinking necessary to be senior naval and marine officers.”

Although the memo was written by senior executives, it has not yet been officially issued.

Captain Adam Clampitt, public affairs officer to the secretary of the navy, stressed that no decision was made “, but added that” the secretary is committed to restoring the ethics of warriors and to instill a culture of meritocracy and responsibility in naval education and through the fleet, and examines a variety of options to get there. “”

The initiative comes only a few days after a great reshuffle of leadership at the Naval Academy. The Ministry of Defense moved the ADM. Yvette Davids as a superintendent and in another role and replaced him by Lieutenant -General Michael J. Borgschulte of the Marine Corps – marking the first time that a navy occupies the post.

However, an official of the navy familiar with the personnel decision pointed out that Davids was promoted. She was nominated to be deputy chief of naval operations for operations, plans, strategy and development of the fight against war – a role that could position her for a future promotion of the four -star admiral.

“Her operational assessment, her strategic vision and her experienced leadership made her the natural solution for the position,” the manager told Fox News Digital. “His selection was not a statement on something other than excellence and preparation.”
