EXCLUSIVE: The Northern Carolina State auditor said it was impatient to have a positive impact on taxpayers by implementing a version of the government’s state effectiveness (DOGE).

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the Northern Carolina State auditor, Dave Boliek, said that his office would examine how the government of the state can be more effective and use the resources it has in the “best possible way” for taxpayers. He plans to do so thanks to Bill 125 of the Chamber, an initiative of DOGE at the level of the State has appointed according to him which recently adopted the Legislative Assembly.

“This helps to give our office and the office of state auditors more resources to take a look at the efficiency gains and the means to really explore the determination of a good return on investment of taxpayers in North Carolina,” said Boliek.

“I really support the effort,” he said, in part. “We have the team in place and we have the possibility of really getting effective results.”

The bill includes a provision for the State auditor to establish a division of responsibility, value and efficiency, otherwise known as Dave Act. The bill adopted the legislator last week with bipartite support-a 91-23 vote in the House and a vote of 47-2 in the Senate.

The measure is now at the Governor’s office Josh Stein, and although it is not clear if it will sign the measure, the ability to replace a potential veto is there with a republican majority in both chambers and enough democratic support.

“It will become the law. I am very convinced that it will be,” said Boliek.

Boliek explained that his office will adopt a “data -based approach” to determine the best “return on investment in dollars of taxpayers”. He also declared that his office would examine the whole government of the State to identify where it can be more effective rather than focusing on specific key areas.

“I think it would be unfair to choose a specific area where we see necessary cuts because we have not yet taken this deep dive, but we will use modern IT programs, we will use AI and we will use a lot of data analysis to offer solid common sense recommendations,” he said.

Contrary to DOGE, The objectives of the Dave law include the allocation of funds in the areas where there are not enough resources, in addition to eliminating unnecessary expenses.

Boliek said that the legislature had asked open positions in the state of being examined to determine why the roles are not fulfilled and, if necessary, which must occur to fill them.

“I don’t think we are limited to only looking at the cut.

When they asked him areas on which the Trump administration concentrated with Doge that Boliek could continue at the level of the state, he said that he wanted to pursue initiatives in a focus on data to ensure that his office supported his recommendations for cuts or improvements with “solid data” and “not just a feeling”.

“The approach should be to see how the dollars of taxpayers are spent and to ask” what is the return on investment? “If we spend taxes on a specific program, the real question is what type of return on taxpayers get for this amount of money?

Boliek said that “taking a look at how dollars are appropriate is really important” and he highlighted the need for “help -type invoices”, including the hurricane relief after the devastation left in the state last year by Hurricane Helene.

“It’s something to spend appropriate money and money is something else to appropriate money with some measurable people,” he said. “It will really be the key so that we can be the most effective. The listener’s office here in North Carolina is well located to help monitoring measurables on appropriate dollar costs.”

While waiting for the official promulgation of the Dave law, Boliek said that it was an “exciting period” so that his office could have a “real effect” on everyday Americans in Tar Heel’s state.

“We want to be relevant to them, and we want to be there for these citizens of North Carolina to know that there is someone who pays attention and Remain responsible government On their behalf, “said Boliek.
