EXCLUSIVE: In a rare public reprimand of Israeli military action, representative Joe Wilson, R – SSC, has issued a severe warning that recent air strikes on Syria are “suicidal” for Tel Aviv.

“I am the co-chair of the Caucus of Israel and a supporter of the State of Israel,” Wilson told Fox News Digital in an emotional telephone call, “I am the heart.”

He said that strikes on the military siege of Syria were “insulting and mocking the president (Donald) Trump”, who recently raised sanctions against Syria after meeting leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa to give Damascus a “chance” to economic prosperity after the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

Wilson said he had a tense phone call with Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, exhoring him to share his warning at home that Israel must stop the strikes.

Only weeks ago, there have been talks in a rear channel between Israel and Syria on a possible standardization agreement. Now, not only are these talks through the window, but strikes will complicate work on an Abraham style agreement in the United States to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, Wilson said. “It’s so sad for me, it’s so prejudicial.”

He warned that fractures in Syria could wave in the region – undermining the emerging ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia, stretching relations with NATO with Turkey, fracturing the Druze unity in Jordan and increasing instability among the Kurdish populations through Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran. He added that such fragmentation would open the door to an Islamic State resurgence, first targeting Israel.

Wilson has also stressed broader geopolitical consequences, noting that strikes empower Iran and strengthen the presence of Russia in Syria. “Efforts should be made to expel (the forces of Vladimir Putin), and not to create destabilization,” he said, saying that Moscow uses his Syrian bases to project naval power through Africa and the Mediterranean.

“What is done is actually beneficial for Iran. The greater destabilization, the greatest opportunity than Iran has to destabilize other countries, whether it is still the destabilization of Iraq, then he also plays in the hands of the Criminal of War Putin.”

The last Israeli strike on Syria took place on Wednesday, but they did not accept a cease-fire.

This week, Israeli National Security Minister Ben Gvir said that Israel was to “eliminate” Al-Sharaa.

The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Thursday, said that the nation had struck to defend the minority communities of Druze in Syria, fearing that the Syrian management will soon strike the Israelis.

“I did not trust the father in Assad, nor to Assad the son, and I certainly do not trust a chef like Julani,” he said, referring to Al-Sharaa by his former name.

He said that Al-Sharaa “is based on jihadist groups which he operates against minorities in Syria, and tomorrow he will exploit them against the Israeli communities in the heights of Golan.

“As we understood that the Syrian regime was at the origin of the attacks and a partner in the massacre of the Druze – we acted against them with full force.” The Druze community also has a large population in Israel.

Wilson described the assertion of “totally artificial and misunderstood”.

“It’s so sad for me that they leave the enemy’s eye. The enemy is Khamenei and the enemy is the head of the snake. It is not Damascus. The head of the snake is Tehran.”

“They open the door to Tehran to rebuild Hamas to rebuild Hezbollah, to reconstruct and they already have the Houthis. So, it’s just crazy. And again, it’s suicidal. If you can’t understand who your enemy is, then you open the door for a loss of massive life in Israel itself.”

The head of Syria accused Israel of sowing discord by hitting to defend the Druze, which were involved in fatal sectarian clashes that threaten the fragile unity of the nation.

The Trump administration officially urged Israel to stop its strikes and pursue direct talks with Damascus. The American special envoy Tom Barrack would have made several calls to the adviser to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Ron Dermer, putting pressure on the restraint. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described strikes as a “disturbing and horrible situation”, adding that the United States is “very worried” and wants the fighting to stop.

The Israeli Defense Ministry could not be joined to comment.
