Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy heads for a meeting of the White House with high challenges with President Donald Trump on Monday, while Washington considers security guarantees for kyiv and the debate is intensifying if Russia land concessions could end the war.

Zelenskyy will be flanked by European key allies at the White House, a diplomatic opening which signals the determination of Europe to rally behind Ukraine.

During the weekend, the Ukrainian leader recognized his last visit to the White House – interrupted by a cries match between Trump and vice -president JD Vance – and told journalists in Brussels that he hopes that Monday’s meeting “will be productive” rather than a rehearsal of the February meeting.

The next meeting comes in the heels of the Trump summit with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin In Anchorage on Friday, where the American chief went from the requirement of a cease-fire to the call to a final peace agreement.

Zelenskyy praised the revelation at a Sunday press conference alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

“It is important that America agrees to work with Europe to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, and we are very grateful in the United States under the President for such a signal,” said Zelenskyy.

“Since the territorial question is so important, it should only be discussed by the leaders of Ukraine and Russia in Trilateral Ukraine, the United States, Russia,” Zelenskyy said.
