Lieutenant-Governor Dan Patrick, R-Texas, does not hesitate to dissatisfaction with the Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who vetoed a bill on the State Senate linked to cannabis.
“Throughout the legislative session, @Gregabbott_TX remained completely silent on Bill 3 of the Senate, the bill which would have prohibited the dangerous products of THC in Texas,” said Lieutenant-Governor to X.
“His late evening veto, on a question supported by 105 of the 108 Republicans of the Legislative Assembly, strongly supported by the police, many in the medical and educational communities, and the families who saw the lives of their relatives destroyed by these very dangerous drugs, leave them abandoned,” he continued.
“I feel particularly bad for those who have testified and shed their hearts on their tragic losses,” said Patrick.

Abbott remained silent on social networks on his decision, but Fox 7 Austin reported that it was one of the 26 bills that the governor vetoed the recent legislative session.
SB 3, which would have prohibited THC products through the Solo star state, is now on the agenda of a special legislative session in July, the local television channel reported.

Abbott called SB 3 “well -intentioned”, but said that “this would never come into force due to valid constitutional challenges” in its veto proclamation.
“The Texans on each side of the debate of the Senate 3 bill 3 raise serious concerns,” wrote Abbott. “But one thing is clear: to ensure the highest level of security for minors, as well as for adults, who obtain a more dangerous product than they expected, Texas must strongly regulate hemp, and it must do it immediately.”

During a press conference on Monday, Patrick accused Abbott of wanting to legalize marijuana in Texas.
“You cannot regulate 8 to 9,000 locations,” said Patrick about cannabis stores. “We don’t have enough police forces to do so, and they will continue to sell it, along the law.”

The Texas Hemp Business Council, which opposes SB 3, published a declaration on Facebook after the veto of Abbott.
“By opposing its veto SB 3, it was held with millions of Texans, protected more than 53,000 jobs, and rejected the lies, donors and propaganda crusade by Dan Patrick. Governor Abbott has shown real leadership today. Texas is stronger for that,” said the press release.
