The Institute of Museums and Libraries Services in the Federal Court stopped

A temporary restriction order has been issued By the American Provincial Court to prevent the Trump administration from dismantling the IMLS Services Institute (IMLS).

The decision was granted in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Library Association (ALA), the US State Union, the province and municipal employees (AFSCME). They were looking for a preliminary judicial order against the dismissal of the government of government competencies (DOGE) for most of the 75 people of IMLS last month.

The news hardly comes as a surprise, given the judge’s tendency to judge against IMLS closure. The temporary restriction order was issued just a few days before the collective demobilization of all IMLS employees who were scheduled to enter on May 4.

Alaa is encouraged that the court immediately recognizes the need for IMLS and at risk library services. The temporary restriction will lead to the turbulence of IMLS while the court refers to logic in this case.

“Even with a temporary restriction, Congress must also work to ensure that our nation’s libraries will continue to serve their societies, including IMLS funding for the next year,” HoHL.
