Federal immigration officials claim that their Portland establishment in Oregon was subjected to a night attack, with little aid from the local police due to the political directives of city leaders.

In an exclusive interview with Bill Melugin from Fox News, Cammila Wamsley, director of the Portland Ice Office, said that the establishment was faced with violence for more than 100 consecutive nights, Portland police, largely absent under the direction of the mayor and the municipal council.

“I cannot understand what is happening at the FDA. I am completely confused,” said Wamsley, describing his frustration of seeing the federal staff attacked outside the building while the officers inside lack competence to intervene. “It is frustrating for us to look at people being attacked in the street and knowing that we do not have the power to be able to really intervene unless there is a link on federal law.”

She said night demonstrations have increased beyond songs and panels, with bottle rockets striking the ice building, rocks breaking the windows, lasers targeting the eyes of the officers and the barricades blocking vehicles.

Wamsley said the demonstrators had followed ice staff at home and Doxxed at least six employees.

“Later, towards the evening and in the dark, there are many people who come dressed in black,” she explained. “They are there to wreak havoc. They will block our cars, throw painting, damage the goods and try to follow our people at home.”

She warned that when crowds swell, violence becomes more dangerous.

“We have already seen it. People here can go from a crowd of 50 to a crowd of 1,000 in 30 minutes,” she said. “Sometimes we only have 20 officers here. We could not defend the building with this show of strength.”

Wamsley said the Portland police service was slow to respond – and sometimes did not respond at all – due to city policy. She explained that assaults occurred outside and on the other side of rue du Bâtiment, but the police took too long to arrive or are not presented at all.

“This is not the position they would take at six blocks of houses from here, but it is the position they adopt with us because of the councils of the mayor and the municipal council,” said Wamsley.

However, Wamsley said that ice staff remain attached to their mission despite the troubles.

“The people who work here are here to serve the American public,” she said. “They are there to apply the same immigration laws that we have in place since the 1950s. Nothing has changed in this regard. We come to work every day. We do our job as we have done, and we will continue to do it.”
