The Texas State House adopted a new Congress card on Wednesday, exploding a democratic roadblock in order to strengthen the chances of the GOP to keep the American house next year.
The card adopted the house under republican control during a vote of 88-52, setting up a new look for the next mid-term elections in 2026 with the addition of five districts of the Republican Congress in the state of Lone Star.
However, the map must make its way through the Senate of the State of Texas before it reached the office of Governor Greg Abbott.

Abbott prompted the creation of a new card to join President Donald Trump’s desire not to see a rehearsal of the 2018 electoral cycle, when the Democrats found the majority in the House and acted as a sheet of the president’s legislative desires towards the end of his first mandate.
While the Republicans control a supermajority in deep red Texas and have already adopted the map by the State Senate, the Democrats still had to create a quorum in the Chamber to advance the process.

Dozens of Democrats from Texas have fled the state to block the process, creating a national media frenzy and generating support from democratic donors, including groups related to George Soros and Beto O’Rourke, to help pay their fines, their travels and their accommodation.
He generated thrusts to have them arrested by Abbott and the Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton, as well as a senator’s request. John CornynR-Texas, so that the FBI finds them and the Doj to launch an investigation into political action committees funding their escape.

Democratic leaders announced on Monday that they would return for the second special session after the California plan to redraw its cards to soften the stroke of the solitary star state, put an end to the blockade and allow the Republicans to load in advance.
The Democrats of the Chamber of Texas accused the GOP of making a card which was illegal and racial discriminatory, and they tried and failed on the floor of the Chamber to add modifications to the bill which would have interrupted the process. Despite the best efforts of the Democrats, the Republicans of the Texas Chamber have shot a dozen changes to the bill.
“Members break my hearts to see how this illegal and rigged and mid-Decennie redistribution program divides our state and our country,” said representative Chris Turner, a democrat. “It’s Texas, it’s not Washington DC The impulses of external politicians and their billionaire donors should not dictate what we do in this room, in this house.”

Representative Todd Hunter, a republican who wrote the bill for the new card, replied that four of the five new districts were “mainly minority Hispanic”, noting that each of the new districts is now a republican trend. However, he had no qualms about the reason why the Republicans pursued changes to the Congress cards.
“The underlying objective of this plan is simple, (to) improve republican political performance,” he said.

The blockade of the Democrats ended on Monday, when Abbott called for a second special session after their requests so that California also begins a redistribution cycle was filled in order to cancel the card that the Texas Republicans created.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Democrats unveiled their new card last week, which, if it was adopted, would create five new districts of the Democratic Congress which would thwart the new card of the Texas legislature.
